The room was big and the bathroom was enormous with twin sinks and a bath! The food and drinks downstairs was very good with very friendly staff.

Centrally located between Nelson Bay Marina and Shoal Bay Beach, The Peninsula Nelson Bay offers 4-star AAA rated accommodation. The rooms were very tidy and clean. Bed was comfortable. The staff were very friendly and service was excellent. The breakfast in the on-site restaurant was fantastic too.

The CBD of Nelson Bay is very compact so it is very easy to shop, dine and visit the cinema without walking very far at all. In the off season there are no traffic problems so it is easy to drive to Shoal Bay for the walk up Tomaree headland or to Fingal Bay for the walks along the beach and waterfront. There are numerous walks in the surrounding townships as well, whether they be bushwalks or promenade walks. The whale and dolphin watches are a must for any visitor and the Nelson Bay golf course is also an added attraction. Because it is a popular destination for holidaymakers the traffic congestion can be annoying during school holidays, Easter and Xmas.

We started our days walking into Nelson Bay around Fly Point from Little Beach with lots of lorikeets and beautiful views for Breakfast or a coffee and cookie from the two Bob's bakery, when we returned we would spend the day just relaxing in the sun on Little Beach. We enjoyed dinners from Taj Tandoori, John Dory's fish and chips, The Only Place and Domino's. Nelson Bay was easy to get around with lots of parking. The access to One Mile beach was very limited with a very steep walk down to the beach.

Nelson’s Bay is a great holiday destination. Plenty of things to do . From Dolphin Cruises to Fishing Trips . Depends on the weather though . Last 2 visits it’s rained . The beaches are lovely though . There are plenty of Cafes and Restaurants depending on what you feel like . Plenty of Shopping to be done if that’s your thing . Lovely Boutique Clothes Shops , Homewares and Pubs. Also things for Kids to do . The Toboggan Run , Water slides and much more ..

We really enjoyed Nelson Bay and thought it was a beautiful place to stay. Our favorite spots were Shoal Bay and Anna Bay (sand dunes). We loved Shoal Bay Country Club and Maverick's for places to eat. They both had a great feel about them for different reasons. The views and scenery everywhere was lovely and overall it was a very relaxing holiday. Having our own car, we found getting around the area was quite easy. The only thing I would avoid next time, is taking too many clothes (overpacking!) lol.

Beautiful town with great scenery. Very easy to get around within the centre of the town. We ate at Mavericks on the Bay and Sienna and had breakfast at the cafe next door. A must do is to walk up to the Lighthouse and then head off to Tomarre Head and to the trail up to Tomarre Mountain Lookout.

Walking access is great - nice restaurants to eat at - cinema is open. Plenty of walking paths The Lighthouse great food and huge scones - a must. Very popular would book ..The view is just beautiful Shopping for the ladies - dress shops around ....streets are close so easy to look around everywhere. There is a pub , workers club. ,etc .. Buses go to the airport and into Newcastle daily. Great for riding bicycles kids as well. Tomare walk is a good challenge - up a mountain. The beaches are close if you prefer and can ride your bike everywhere pretty flat.

This place is sensational, very comfortable and cozy. It feels like a totally different world within Port Stephens / Nelson Bay. My wife really enjoyed the treatment in Spa Lucca, staffs are friendly with nice varieties of breakfast choices. Very clean and nicely renovated rooms. An absolute first choice to just chill and relax in.

Have stayed here a few times now and have always found the rooms Clean and spacious. Staff were friendly and helpful. Great location from both Nelson bay and shoal bay if you don’t want to be in the middle of either main areas. Within walking distance to club and has an on-site restaurant. Great value for money.
