This place is iconic. Located on the Nullarbor Plain, this is a proper, working roadhouse with a regular traffic of road trains to prove it. It's also perfectly located for a night's rest traveling east-west across the country. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and clean (there's a bit of sand here and there but that can't be helped, it's a desert!). The Internet was very decent, considering how far away the place is, and it was great fun just to wander around the grounds and check out all the heritage interpretation. The restaurant and bar are well-stocked and the food was very good, even the vegetarian options held up. Beer was cold and the staff were helpful, if a bit inexperienced (mostly backpackers / work away young people). Overall, it was a special experience to stay on the Nullarbor Plain itself, highly recommended.

We played the Nullarbor links golf course and stayed the night in the Nullarbor Roadhouse guest accommodation and was just what we needed after driving distances. The food was adequate (not expected to get gourmet meals in the this area) though did find the meals large.

When you are crossing the Nullarbor plan your trip. The Nullarbor Roadhouse is a good place to stay, but it is not like a hotel in the city. The restaurant services food that you can eat but would not qualify for any awards.

Whales were the highlight, go between May and August to have best chance of seeing from Head of Bight. Pay the $16 entry each as worth it for the infrastructure added to make viewing from cliffs possible. I would go past Nullarbor Roadhouse 70km to view the Bundy cliffs at Sunset - we went at Sunrise and not as great. Enjoy the wide open spaces of the Nullarbor to feel a million miles away from city life.

Watching the Southern Right Whales and their calves, playing, having fun and relaxing was one of my favourite things. The Head of the Bight is the perfect place to do this. You don't have to go far to feel the peace of the Nullabor, an amazing place. The Nullabor Road house provides really delicious food and almost any beverage you can think of, quite incredible considering just how far it is from anywhere. They also cater from a huge range of diets!
