Set in five acres of historical gardens, Woolrich Historic Garden Accommodations is 0.9 mi from the picturesque village of Olinda. Beautiful quite location in the Dandenong Ranges. Loved the 4 seat hot tub inside the house and sitting in front of the fireplace on a colder winters night. Beds were very comfortable.
The place was picked by the photos and they were out if date . The spa wasn't the same as the picture. And my wife is a invalid so the spa was very difficult to use for her as the height was very dangerous. It clearly isn't the photo which was advertised. Also there was no area for standing outside if it rained no cover at all. Also very noisy being down stairs can hear constant noises. The breakfast was good and the place is warm. It's clean but it's less then the pictures are discibing .
At first they seemed nice, but when we walked into the back in a dark (what seemed to be a garage or something, messy paper work everywhere) we just brushed it off and we regret not looking at the place before paying the remaining money. When she showed us around she pointed out all the faulty appliances that we shouldn't be using, she asked my husband if he was a handyman and how she gets some of her guest to help her 'fix' the place up. Even if my husband is a handyman we are on our anniversary getaway, we came there to relax not work. The handle of the sliding door (which is basically your main entrance) is broken and anyone can break in literally with a ruler, no security at all. When we saw the bathroom she told us that she took 3 light bulbs out and only left us with 1, when we asked why she replied "because guest leave the lights on when they go out". It was so dusty and dirty, when we rocked up the towels were on the oil heater cause they weren't dried and ready for us, the towel rack broke while she was showing us around. The bed sheets didn't look clean nor did they smell clean, we saw some bed bugs on the bed and this put us off straight away. We booked the Deluxe Suite with Spa Bath, there was no balcony or mountain view for us. I believe that as guest we deserve to have a clean, comfortable and secure environment to stay in especially when we are paying $320 a night. We didn't end up staying at any of the 2 nights that we booked, We were so disappointed and outraged so we just went back home. We did call and try to compromise to get half our money back but they didn't return any of our calls or messages Absolutely the worst way to end our anniversary getaway!!!!
Couldn't visit gardens or national parks - most closed due to damage from wild weather - however, normally these are lovely to visit. The villages along the Mt Dandenong Tourist Road can get quite crowded on weekends, so if you can visit during the week, it will be more peaceful. there are plenty of food options around, including some good 'country pubs'.
The little cottage was perfect! From the long lasting hot water, to the soft pillows on the bed. Breakfast, books, incense, tv with netflix, chooks roaming the garden, kettle, microwave, couch, blankets, little deck with chairs and blankets, bug garden to roam and a stunning view from the rotunda & so much more! The Como supplied everything I could have wanted for my quiet weekend! The staff were amazing and I can't wait to head back soon x
It was nice wandering up the street and looking at all the shops. Our accommodation was within walking distance making for a very relaxed stay. A beautiful part of the world. We had dinner at the Pig & Whistle pub. A bit too far to walk on a cold night. We drove. Good English fare - great on a cold winter's afternoon or night.
Everything was brilliant. From food to friendly hosts. The setting was magic in large maintained gardens. Easy stroll to shops and bus. Close to Olinda and Mt Dandenong. Can only rate this as the best cottages i have stayed in.
We had such a lovely stay at Woolrich gardens retreat. Growing up spending holidays at my grandparents place in the Dandenongs, this brought back so many precious and beautiful memories. I loved the super comfy beds, the gorgeous retro decor, the views, the beautiful gardens, and the wonderful location being attached to Cloudehill gardens. The kitchen had all the mod cons and was fit out beautifully. It was great to have ducted heating throughout. The large flat screen TV was a bonus.

Very spacious cottage, lovely deck to catch the afternoon sun. Perfectly working heating system, beautiful fireplace, firewood replaced when needed. Lovely owners who very quickly came to our rescue when our two year old locked us out! Would highly recommend to family and friends to stay here. Thank you.

I don’t normally write reviews, but I must compliment Jing on your property. We were absolutely delighted with the Blue and White House. It was perfect for our visit for a family wedding, and I’ll definitely be recommending it :)

Was pleasantly surprised that the cottage was situated amongst the rainforest with a little creek at the back of the property. Also the cottage's proximity to Olinda was an incredible 4 min walk away from town. The accommodation was superb and made for a very relaxing weekend. The heating was left on for us which was a lovely touch.
