I was unable to check in and the staff TXT me checked me in and turned on the heating to ensure we were comfortable when we got there as it was 1 degree in Parkes at the time. The Staff did everything to make it easy and welcoming for my stay. the room and bed were very comfortable and the shower size was exceptional. The water pressure was brilliant with plenty of hot water.

Well I think I got upgraded to the king suite. But it was very good. Spacious. Comfy furniture & bed. Excellent pub food at the bottom of the stairs.

    It was an interesting place to visit. Elvis theme suburb. Motor Museum is a definite place to visit. Also, the dam park, The Thirsty Bushman Cafe, unique as it is placed in front of an antique train. Another place to visit while here is the Memorial Park and the Dish. Although I didn't visit the Dish, I think it would be a great one to visit.

    Parkes if a beatiful country town, nice views and all locals are very friendly.Can be cold in winter make sure you bring lots of warm clothes. Very enjoyable place. Pakes observatiory was great and is only a short drive out of town.

    Stopped off on our way to Noosa, only stayed the night, the pub in the main street had great food, and the beer cold . Went to the "The Dish" next morning on our way to Noosa, worth the stop to check out the history of the Radio Dish. nice town.

    Love this town. Lots of facilities, so much to see and do. We use it annually for family stopovers between Melbourne and Armidale. Lots of accommodation options, and many for a budget conscious family.

    The visit to Parks Observatory is well worth the trip,...

    The visit to Parks Observatory is well worth the trip, especially if you are a science or space fan. The 3D cinema with its 3 films is also excellent and worth the $10 charge. Parkes itself is a fairly typical, quiet Australian town with friendly locals and everything you need for a short stay (2 days is more than enough). Attractions are limited but there is historical interest in the local area, which is named after Henry Parkes the father of Australian federalism. In general if you are on a road trip from Melbourne to Brisbane it’s a good over night stop and you can visit the observatory on the route. It’s also a possibility from The Blue Mountains region, whilst it’s a 3 hour drive it’s worth it for space fans.

    Pleasant front office staff, very good location within walking distance to Parkes town centre. Based on room 24 (with spa), located to the rear of the motel complex, very quiet (no road noise), fantastically comfy bed, plenty of hot water and private small rear porch with chairs and overlooking a grassed area. Spotlessly clean (especially with the spa).
