We travelled to Parkes for a family wedding. We were only there two nights so did not do much sight seeing, however, we went out to The Dish. It was very informative. My husband and I can remember the moon landing so we found it very interesting. We even saw the dish being moved.

Parkes is a town on the move with an increasing number of contemporary facilities reflecting that fact. It remains essentially a hub for the surrounding rural and mining industries but has become more versatile in its approach to handling people from outside of its catchment area.

We were in town for a school reunion, so catching up with a lot of old friends was fantastic, stayed at Court St Motel which is central and walking distance from everywhere, we ate at the railway Hotel, the bowling club and the Broadway Hotel, all were very accommodating gave great service, is plenty to do and look at for visitors,

It was an interesting place to visit. Elvis theme suburb.

It was an interesting place to visit. Elvis theme suburb. Motor Museum is a definite place to visit. Also, the dam park, The Thirsty Bushman Cafe, unique as it is placed in front of an antique train. Another place to visit while here is the Memorial Park and the Dish. Although I didn't visit the Dish, I think it would be a great one to visit.

Parkes if a beatiful country town, nice views and all locals are very friendly.Can be cold in winter make sure you bring lots of warm clothes. Very enjoyable place. Pakes observatiory was great and is only a short drive out of town.

Stopped off on our way to Noosa, only stayed the night, the pub in the main street had great food, and the beer cold . Went to the "The Dish" next morning on our way to Noosa, worth the stop to check out the history of the Radio Dish. nice town.

Very small rooms - cleanliness ok, spartan kitchen facilities. Disappointing value for money - in fact room was selling for $25 less, 4 hours after booking. Hotel pub food and service was good, steak cooked to my liking, but cut was tough, mash and salad was very good. Excellent central location, onsite parking. Not fully booked at all, but all residents crammed into small section, so was noisy and smoke flowed into room. Recommend ear plugs.

The location was good and quiet for sleeping. It would have been helpful to have a dog lead tether inside the cabin and also outside to ensure that my dogs could be tethered inside and outside safely. And it would be good to have a grassed area to take the dogs to do their business. It would also be helpful for dog waste bags to be supplied to make it easier to take care of the dog waste when at a pet friendly accommodation.

This was our second stay at Bushman's because it meets all our needs for an overnight stop. Good size, clean and comfortable room. A real stand-out for a pet friendly motel. It's now our go to when travelling through Parkes.
