Exceptional experience with the animals at the farm stay, cows roaming right behind the cottage. Enjoyed the farm tour - brushing and petting the cows, holding the chickens, meeting the sheep, playing with the dog. Well equipped kitchen with induction cooker, microwave, air fryer etc, salt/pepper also provided. Clean, comfortable and spacious. Convenient location to drive around the sights such as remarkable cave, port arthur historic site and devils kitchen, and IGA is 10min away.

I stayed in the bunk-bed room. There was a fridge, so if the shared kitchen fridge was full, it was great to have extra backup space. A bath towel was also provided, which was an unexpectedly nice touch! The site has plenty of space and good enough facilities(firewood pizza oven, grill, ping pong tables, kettles, microwaves, and 5min hot water shower). The receptionists are also very welcoming and friendly. Late check-in and early checkout was available which helped my journey a lot.

    You need a full day.

You need a full day. The cruise is included in the entry and very informative. You can book various tours and take a walk around by yourself. For those with mobility problems a free buggy will take you to various sites. Some places have steps. There is a great cafe that sells hot or cold food and drinks a gift shop ad a dining room for nght time meals. There is a lovely Cafe and museum at the lunatic asylum along with restrooms. Make sure you have your camera ready as some beautiful birds throughout. Wear comfy shoes and be prepared for quick change in weather. overall it is a very great insight in the harsh conditions convicts endured. Enjoy.

An all day visit required. The ticket allows for 2 day pass. Ferry ride enjoyable. Toilets located every where around the site. Where you least expect them, but are glad they are. Tour guide/talks at various locations around site are informative. A cafe near separate prison is good.

We probably should have listened to the tour guides and got a lot more out of our visit but we enjoyed just going around on our speedy schedule. I enjoyed the Spotify talks and found them informative. I would have liked more of them. The boat trip was very good.

Port Arthur is a terrific place to visit!!!

Port Arthur is a terrific place to visit!!! There is lots to see and do here. The Port Arthur Historic Site is fantastic. We took a guided tour of the site before we started looking around. Our tour guide was exceptional and really knew her stuff. The cruise around Carnarvon Bay which is included in the price was also great. The site is not the only attraction at Port Arthur. There are also a number of geographical features on the peninsula that are worth a look (e.g. Remarkable Cave, Tasman Arch, Devil's Kitchen). The Tasmanian Devil Unzoo at Taranna should not be overlooked either!

A beautiful setting, carefully honouring the tragedies of past and recent times. The cafe is so much more than that - staff were welcoming, friendly, helpful with directions, and the 'story-tellers' of PA's history was absolutely charming and spot-on with their delivery and facts.

I got great weather and that may have made a difference.

I got great weather and that may have made a difference. Day 1 was at Port Arthur. It's beautiful but sobering. A must do. Day 2 Tasman Island cruise. Brilliant. We saw whales (out of season), seals and tons of dolphins and seabirds. The boat trip was fun and the scenery spectacular. A must, must, must do.

We loved the location. Only a quick 10 minute drive to Port Arthur historic site. You can always do a nice walk to the site that takes 30 mins. This location would be perfect in summer as there is a private beach with clear water a 10 min walk away. The ground facilities are great. Would be great with a group of friends using the pizza oven and many camp fires around the grounds. The electric blanket was a really nice touch. The glamping tent balcony would be amazing in summer cooking a bbq.

For newbies to Port Arthur, there is no township as such. Basically just pick something and go with it. This hotel met the needs and would easily accommodate family of 5 - provided a bed and had dinner on site. Potable water to cabins, but water bottles provided, so all good there.

Location was great and the staff were very kind. The price for the meals were just great for the amount of food. Really, the food was better than other places that I visit in Tasmania. The room was as expected. It was cleaned and it was comfortable.

The remoteness and quiet of this cabin are fantastic. It is cosy with the open fire. The distillery is great too for an afternoon drink, with a very informative barman. Overall a great place to stay when visiting this area of Tasmania.

Cuteness of the cabins but with great spacing between them for privacy. Also the space inside was quite generous. Modern hotels have far less space. The restaurant is absolutely fantastic. Reception staff were very friendly.
