Loads of beautiful restaurants, shops and places to visit. Greta spot to have as a base to visit surrounding areas. People were all really nice and helpful. We ate at Jungle Fowl awesome food, Tin Shed was great place to meet up with friends to enjoy the waterfront and the food was lovely, and Han Court Chinese was scrumptious. We did day trips to Cairns to catch boat to Fitzroy Island and enjoyed lunch there, had an amazing dinner at Coco's Kitchen in Cairns that night we both had a Lobster that was superb. Caught the train from Freshwater Station to Kuranda for the day, we paid for Gold Class which served great local food and drinks, fab trip up and back. Walking distance to everything, easy to get around, plenty of choices for places to eat as well as a great Cole's supermarket. You can be as busy or as relaxed as you want to be. A road trip to Daintree, Cape Tribulation and the Wildlife Discovery Centre is easily done in a day. A boat trip up the Dickson Inlet is a fun and informative thing to do. It is a magnificent area and Port Douglas is one of the prettiest towns in Australia. It is a very safe, secure area, with both the local inhabitants and tourists very friendly and polite. The number of people from all parts of the world was surprising and refreshing. We hired a car from Cairn airport to travel to Port Douglas for 5 days. We booked the snorkeling tour as well as the Daintree tour, both were well organised by the tour leaders. The restaurants were great but very crowded, luckily my daughter has booked everything in advance. This is a tourist town with the population swelling to 4 or 5 times it's live-in residents, but that doesn't detract from the ambiance and vitality of the area. Everywhere you go there are people enjoying themselves, and there are places for every age group. Port Douglas is the ideal jumping point for travelling around with Cairns 90 minutes one way and Cape Tribulation 90 minutes the other. And in between you have Kuranda with the Scenic Rail, Sky Rail and the markets, Hartley's Croc Adventures, Craiglee, Mossman Gorge, just to name o few. And if you simply want to relax then go to the beach at the end of Macrossan Street and find a magnificent place to wander or sleep.Guest review byPengliiAustralia

The apartments are really comfortable and the facilities are great, including the pool area and laundry. Location is also great, a little walk into town, and the nearest beach is only a few minutes. Location is great as just down from marina and across the road from an entry point of 4 mile beach. Everything could be walked to in 10-20min, we had a car which helped as I wouldn’t recommend if you needed to walk with groceries, Woolys might be too far.
