Typical sea town with a good choice of restaurants , beaches and cafes. There is koala center and zoo in the area plus the rainforest park (Sea acres) which is easy walk. Nothing spectacular but people are trying to preserve nature. Plus the little gardens (Mrs York’s).

Port Macquarie is one of our favourite places to visit.

Port Macquarie is one of our favourite places to visit. It has SO many restaurants and amazing places to eat. The thing that keeps drawing us back is the walking paths that run along the river and beaches. Port Macquarie Council has done an incredible job of making public spaces accessible and so very attractive. The zoo is a great day out and highly recommended, as are the many heritage sites in and around the town. My wife and I also love attending the markets that are held in west port park.

Port Macquarie was a stop over between Brisbane and Sydney so the short stay was what we were looking for. We have stayed in Port on many occasions and this town has a variety of good accommodation, good eating places and many great sites to visit.

There are so many options to spend a healthy, enjoyable and entertaining few days away. We love the "Play that goes Wrong" at the Glass House, the food at the Mekong, the walks at Sea Acres and the Nature Reserve. Due to the two windy days we didn't get to the river cruise that we love and chose to walk in the parks and nature reserve etc etc. So many great walks! People everywhere were helpful and considerate. Once we asked for directions and were shown how to use our iphone to walk to our destination. The Postman in his bike also helped by direct us to where we left our car. We felt truely blessed! Thank you PM

I liked being able to Whale watch from Shelly Beach.

I liked being able to Whale watch from Shelly Beach. We saw three pods of whales with 9 whales in total. Admittedly, although we could see them from the beach, we needed binoculars to get a better look. Make sure you visit Sea Acres Rainforest Boardwalk, and take your time to listen and soak up the amazing atmosphere.

The place is incredible and the service from the host Leo was fantastic! He provided me and my friend a 5 star experience! From dinner to breakfast, everything is fresh and delicious! Not to mention the bed, which is pure comfort. I highly recommend Anna Mandara Luxury Retreat to anyone wanting a cozy and relaxing accommodation to enjoy Port Macquarie. Thank you Leo, Your welcoming accommodation and service made all the difference to our stay in Port Macquarie.

Depressing, lightbulbs like in a hospital - one was half li and flickering, cheap cutlery thrown into a plastic thing below the bench, no herbal teabags, broken water tap, no sink to wash up - just the bathroom hand basin, terrible cheap microwave that kept dragging off the bench when I tried to open the door. I just felt ripped of is all. I don't mind a basic motel but for $150 I do not ecpect everything to be 'on the cheap'.

Absolutely cracking little hotel bang in the centre of everything you need in town . Staff are all really friendly and helpful. If anyone's it some nightlife at the weekend This is the hotel to be. So I wouldn't advise coming for a quiet one. At the weekends thru the week it's very chilled food great drinks cheap enough. Handy for the bottleo in the same building for your booze and cigarettes. I will be back

The rooms were very clean and well presented. The facilities were great and easy to find and use (TV). Compared to a higher priced room we stayed at (labelled a resort) earlier this played it off a break and was about $40 cheaper - not a reason to increase your rates!
