The view from this hotel is absolutely stunning! Our room faced The Nut, giving us a perfect sunrise view every morning. 🌅
The room had everything we needed, and the bathtub was just amazing. 👍

Cosy, fully self-contained, superb location right on lake. Low lighting outside so stars wonderful. Enjoyed spa bath. Pet friendly with great grounds to explore. Tidal beach just minutes walk.

The pub was at the base of the nut with an excellent view. The meal in the bistro was first class. It was only a short walk to anywhere in the town with lots of little shops full of interesting things.

One of the neatest, tidiest towns one could find anywhere.
One of the neatest, tidiest towns one could find anywhere. The township is very pretty, has just about all the necessities, but remains quiet and peaceful. A perfect place for a long weekend get away, or a longer stay if one wishes to visit other interesting places in the area.

Stanley may be a small town but it is one of the neatest tidy towns I've visited. The entire township is maintained to a very high standard so credit to the friendly residents. There is plenty to see both in the township and the surrounding area. It is easy to walk from place to place, except perhaps for the walk to the top of the Nut, which may be challenging for older people. The alternative chairlift provides superb views of the surrounding area on the way down. The Nut is Stanley's major attraction and the views from the top are stunning, as is the native flora and fauna. Be aware the it can be quite windy too - watch out for hats! There are two beautiful sandy beaches within easy walking distance and and several historic buildings. As a quiet peaceful place to get away from everyday life, it is near perfect. One thing that visitors need to know is that Stanley 'opening' hours may be a little later than they may find in larger towns - 9.30-10.00 am, although I see this as a positive as it adds to its quiet peaceful old worldly charm. There are many places to stay although we stayed at Stanley Hotel, itself an interesting older style building full of charm, although access to the upper floors appears to be by stairs only. The staff were friendly, informative, and helpful, the food and service at the restaurant was excellent, and our room was clean, quiet and comfortable. I would highly recommend it.

We loved the character, history and how tastefully decorated...
We loved the character, history and how tastefully decorated The Ship Inn was. The gardens at the back with The Nut as a backdrop were immaculate and well designed on a slope. There were seating areas to take in the views. It was by far the loveliest place to stay as it had everything - immaculate luxury comfort, a historical pretty town and sea views everywhere.

One of the greatest places in Tasmania!
We have been to several places for our friends but this place was the best so far :)
The fire place was set up nicely and the balcony area has enough space for us to have bbq and speaker was set up as well ! Plus, a little gaming area was entertaining:) definitely will come back some day again ! Thank you so much !
We liked everything about the property. Attention to what travellers need was perfect. There was a place to put all our luggage etc which we have not found in Tasmania yet. The view was superb the staff were fabulous & we thoroughly enjoyed our stay
The cottage was central, in walking distance to everything in Stanley. It is an old cottage but clean and cheerful. The little added extras like the cheese platter, milk in the fridge, makeup wipes are all appreciated.
Lovely, cosy room with a view of the bay. Very comfortable bed. We are walkers so no issue with walking to the Stanley Hotel which was the only place open for dinner. Also walked to the penguin viewing platform.
Everything, this has been one of the best accommodations we have stayed at during our trip to Tasmania. Wish we had stayed longer. Loved sitting on the front deck looking out.
