A quiet country town, just starting to recover after closure of coal-fired power station. Local people are very friendly and always offer assistance when asked. Wallerawang has a couple of pubs and a lakeside park ideal for BBQs. It is a good stay location for access to Rydal (daffodils), Lake Lyell, The Capertee Valley (Garden of Stone), Lithgow and the Glow-Worm Tunnel. Could even stop-over here before proceeding on to Mudgee.
I have no words but just AMAZING AMAZING AMAZINGLY the BEST motel we’ve EVER stayed at!!!!! I don’t even know where to start!!!!! The service, food, cleanliness was just way way above our expectations!!!! The service was amazing! We had our food delivered to our room and was shocked with how quick it arrived to our room. Food was just amazingly DELICIOUS! The restaurant is just beautiful! They look after you so well! We stayed there for 2nights and wished we stayed longer!!!! The 2 bedroom suite is so beautiful and I love the set up! It was just so relaxing! I recommend this place to ALL my friends and family! See you again real soon!! 😍😍😍😍
I had never heard of this place but loved it. Everyone was so friendly and a great place to explore. Black Gold Motel was great and interesting to know it was previously a school and some buildings are named after precious teaching staff. Great food at both pubs and a great atmosphere.
lovely little town with free camping near the dam/river. Not a great tourist attraction but if your close both the pub and bowling club provide great meals and the café at the railway station has amazing coffee
Nice little town. Quiet location, no overnight traffic noise and good amenities. Restaurant at Black Gold Motel was great - food was plentiful and well made and wait staff very good ( and well priced).
