The access to beaches and related facilities are one of the best we have visited. Walking tours are well catered for and very interesting The city seem to care about the way the town is presented. A must visit city.
There’s a surprising amount on offer in Warrnambool. Great beaches, cafes, nature walks and playgrounds. The Maritime Village is well worth the visit especially if you take your time and absorb all the stories and information on offer. Recommend doing the clue challenges whether young or old. Lovely tea room with cotttage gardens and lolly shop. The outdoor mineral spas at Deep Blue are also a must. Just try and avoid the busiest sessions.
I am familiar with Warrnambool because I went to University here for three years, always loved it. Vibrant city, no doubt influenced by having a university campus. Some excellent dining out experiences. Great beaches and entertainment venues. I particularly like the shopping district because there are minimal large companies represented with the same stock they have anywhere and everywhere. You can spend time exploring various options. We were only in town for two nights to catch up with family traveling up from Melbourne, so our time was spent with them. We did have a great ten pin bowling tournament for Father's Day...lots of laughs.
There are so many options available for sight seeing within town itself and within a short drive. The Maritime Museum and Flagstaff Hill are wonderful as is the Light and Sound Show. Easy access to The Apostles and London Bridge. Lava Cafe a great breakfast spot and The Provincial Cafe do amazing gourmet toasties.
The cabin we stayed in was perfect for four of us, two adults and two children. It is opposite the Lake Pertobe playground which was perfect for the children. Flagstaff Hill Maritime Village is just up the hill! Warrnambool is a reasonably easy city to drive around once you get a handle on the main roads. This was a wonderful stay and we would certainly stay again!
The object of the visit was to play in Golf Croquet tournament which was very successful, three days of six hours play each day, left little room for the delights of Warrnambool. Warrnambool is a great town and well worth a visit, there is plenty to do and see. Eating is good and available. This part of the coast must be on anyone's bucket list.
