Located on the border of the World Heritage-listed Crater Lakes National Park, these cottages are surrounded by rainforest with wildlife on the doorstep. It was a lovely escape in the rainforest and close to all the waterfalls we were chasing. Hosts are wonderful and caring with attention to detail. The wildlife is really impressive. I loved having both a fireplace and spa!
Offering a barbecue and views of the garden, The Church is located in Yungaburra, 27 mi from Cairns. Free private parking is available on site. It was so beautifully appointed. And the attention to detail and maintance was great. Lovely strong hot shower! And it was a nice touch to have some breakfast ready to make in the fridge and a bottle of wine for dinner.
Yungaburra is very central to things on the tableland. It has a nice little town are and the eating out is great. We would thoroughly recommend travellers to dine at Our Place restaurant but you would definitely need to book.
Yungaburra is a beautiful little town. You shouldn’t miss getting up early morning to see the platypus. A meal and drink at the Yungaburra pub is not to be missed. Make time for a massage at Ke Aloha Massage & Bodywork’s, you won’t be disappointed! If your into lawn bowls Yungaburra has a wonderful bowls club. There are lots of little shops to browse through. Don’t forget to visit the Afghanistan Avenue of Honour. Plus lots more. A wonderful relaxed little town with loads of character and characters! Oh and most importantly have a meal and cocktail at Little Eden restaurant, all we can say is OMG!! #CairnsAustraliaTravellers
We used Yungaburra as our central location for touring the Atherton Tablelands for three full days. We enjoy walking the National Parks and visiting small rural communities and enjoying their local offerings. Probably one more day would have been ideal as we did have to miss a few things. However, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and visit to this magnificent and scenic area. Would recommend a minimum of 3 days. The people are all very friendly. The Atherton Tablelands are not to be missed! Don’t miss: the waterfalls, Curtain Fig Tree, Herberton Pioneer Village, The Crystal Cave, Lake Barrine Tea Rooms & Scones, Hypipamee Crater. Eat at Yungaburra Hotel and Nick’s Restaurant, The Superstar Cafe at Atherton. Day visit from Innisfail to Paronella Park and and Skywalk. Day visit from Cairns to Kuranda Rail and Skywalk.
Yungaburra is set amongst the rainforest with abundant wildlife, lake views and pretty streets. A great place to source local art and craft or indulge in gourmet dining. The historic pub has a relaxing atmosphere and is a great place to sit and watch the world go by. If you need groceries, the local supermarket has everything you need and is located beside a restaurant and local jeweler. Everything is in walking distance.
Great scenic drive including waterfalls, lakes etc. Need to allow some time to appreciate walks etc. Town was very appealing but we were there after hours so didn't really get to look in the shops. If we had more time we would have walked the creek to try and spot a platypus. The fig tree was a nice attraction.
We love Yungaburra. The people are friendly there are great places to eat and shop and if you go on a Friday night the streets are buzzing. We ate at Our Place the first night,a very nice welcoming atmosphere with beautiful food and the second night we dined at Nicks pizzeria...amazing atmosphere in there and again...great food. I don’t think you can go wrong with a stay in Yungaburra!!
Ideally situated in Yungaburra it is central to many of the locations and attractions any visitor to the tablelands should see. Our Host Gina was welcoming and friendly. The Villas are beautifully appointed, clean and comfortable. They are positioned In such a way that makes them feel tucked away and quiet. The compendium in the room is perfect to help you find anything you might want to see or do. Unlike others which I’ve found to be vague at best this one provides plenty of information for the various activities.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the beautiful cabin. The breakfast was super generous and delicious. The fireplace that you can turn was mind blowing. There were so many thoughtful little details, like the port in crystal decanter with two little glasses and chocolates heart on the bed. The cabin its self was so well thought out in design and tastefully decorated, especially loved the metal art that also was a hook for the fireplace tools. I would highly recommend Mt Quincan if you are looking for total relaxation.
Everything about our 11 nights at Crater Lakes was magical, The cottage was spotless, comfy and cozy with log fires every night. The birds that came to visit us every day were incredible and the peace of the rainforest that surrounded us was amazing. Just down the road is Lake Eacham wich is so beautiful to swim in and the walk around the lakeis great. So close to Yungaburra and yet so surrounded by rainforest. Our hosts John and Jenny were so warm and welcoming and nothing was to much trouble. What a treat!!!
The Church was very quaint and appropriately styled in this gorgeous historial town. It really suited the ambience of Yungaburra. Breakfast supplies and bottle of wine were appreciated. It was very neat and tidy and in a great location to walk to shops. Check in was very easy. Highly recommend for a base to explore all the Atherton Tablelands has to offer.
Gorgeous house right on the lake with great views, facilities, fireplace and lounge - a real home away from home with so many special touches that only enhanced the experience. The weather was bad that weekend and it didn't impact our enjoyment at all, as house was so accommodating!
Beautiful location. Lovely green lush foliage and a couple if white camellias with yellow centres in flower. Yungaburra is a picturesque and friendly little village with a well stocked local supermarket, good coffee and plenty of restaurants. Bottle stores are well stocked.
A beautiful location overlooking green hills, close enough to call into Yungaburra for dinner. Easy drive in to property, house presented beautifully, well equipped kitchen for self catering. Ian and Alli very helfpul hosts and close by if anything needed.
Location in the centre of the village. Close to amenities and restaurant. Very friendly manager/proprietor who has just taken over the hotel. Spacious room with all the necessary frills. On site parking right outside our room.
The nice garden The green eco style The decorative interior and the architecture of the house Our host Emma who helped us with our further trip (thanks especially for the tip to have a stop in Etty Bay to see Cassowaries )
Fantastic location in the heart of Yungaburra township with easy walking distance to cafes and shops. It was a convenient stopover stay as we were working up on the tablelands for the weekend.
Very welcoming personable owner and host who offers a lovely refreshment on arrival. Cosy well equipped room, at a great price, and a stroll to all of Yungaburra's delights.
What a lovely house. It has everything you can want and more. Complete and fully equipped kitchen, tv with foxtel, two good bedrooms with good beds, nice linen, bathrooms, spa bath, and with everything provided. And the most gorgeous back verandah to sit on and watch the sun set. Yungaburra is a great town too, with excellent cafes, and a very good supermarket, and lots to do, in and around the place.
Quiet location, comfortable beds, spotless facilities. Central and walking distance to village.
