Speightstown is a good place to visit with a varied selection of bars and restaurants. Some good beaches which are never crowded and a real Carribbean feel to the town which has some historic buildings. We liked Local & Co good food and service not the cheapest but a lovely location and a good atmosphere. Jordans is a good local supermarket.

St Peter is the perfect place to base yourself as local beaches, and several excellent restaurants are all in walking distance. We always hire a car to get about in . But local bus service stops at bottom of the road and is great way to get around.

It's a very pretty area - much prettier and less built up than in the south. Speigtstown is an interesting town and a little way north of that is a fabulous beach - Heywood. Worth driving to the north to Sunset Point and to cross over to the east coast. Then you find the less commercialised Barbados.

Speightstown is a typical Caribbean village.

Speightstown is a typical Caribbean village. Fairly small and quiet with a few bars and restaurants. It has a fish market and long pier which you can fish from. Tiny silver fish swim round this and the water is crystal clear.

    Beautiful setting and very relaxing.

Beautiful setting and very relaxing. It was very nice quiet when we went at end of June. Don’t feel crowded. Staff got to know our names and were very friendly and looked after us. The apartment was super large. We booked a 2 bedroom apartment, but the Booking.com description showed 1 bedroom, it was in fact a 3 bedroom ! Which is what all the parents at the resort are. Easy to get around St Peter’s. We hired a car
