  • Grand Hotel Du Sablon

    Grand Hotel Du Sablon

    Bruges Centre, Bruges

Situated in the heart of Bruges, in between the Market Square and the Zand area, this characteristic hotel adds classic elegance to your stay in this historical town. We stayed here 3 nights and chose the hotel based on previous reviews and did not disappoint. We were given a family room, exceptionally spacious with lounge area, two large double bedrooms (the second room was great for the suitcases) and a good size bathroom. All the rooms have heating and you can open windows if you wish. The location is unbeatable, within metres of the main square and the shopping district. We made a fundamental mistake on our first night dining in the square, it was expensive and we experienced some dishonesty by the staff, which was surprising! €9 for a bottle of water will give you an idea of over pricing! I have reviewed the restaurant on Tripadvisor. The staff at this hotel were lovely and very attentive. Breakfast (included) was a real treat, so much choice and everything was fresh and instantly replenished. The lolly jars, pastries and tea and coffee at any time during the day was also a nice touch. We loved Brugge and thought it was one of the prettiest cities we had seen in our 5 month European trip. We would highly recommend this hotel if you're considering a visit to Brugge.

  • Hotel Botaniek

    Hotel Botaniek

    Bruges Centre, Bruges

The elegant Hotel Botaniek is a renovated 18th-century mansion. The hotel is situated right in the historical centre of Bruges, 50 metres from the picturesque canals. This little hotel was perfect for us. It is near the centre, the canals, parks, restaurants, Fismarket place, but in a quiet streat. The breakfast very tasty, everything fresh made, hot chocolate with cream, croissant, strawberry, pineapple. Veronika and Bernd are simply fantastic, the give all the guests the best service on a very friendly and funny way. Always smiling and helpful. The bed was huge and very-very comfortable after the "hard day", with walking and strong beers.

Bruges is a picture perfect medieval city that will charm you with its distinctive, century-old houses, plentiful canals and city walls. The famous 13th-century Belfry offers the opportunity to watch the cobbled market place, the Grote Markt, below while 47 bells call out to the city every 15-minutes. While you’re in the Grote Markt you can take a ride in one of the horse-drawn carriages around the city.

Many interesting artefacts can be found in the churches of Bruges, a Michelangelo statue is housed in the Church of Our Lady and the Basilica of the Holy Blood contains a vial of blood reportedly from Jesus Christ. Other museums include the Groeninge Museum which includes works of art spanning 6 centuries.
