Very close to center of town, quiet and clean. A good sized room and comfortable beds. Having airco was a plus! The breakfast was good quality and variety, even with the option to have cooked bacon and eggs. Staff (Pebbles) was very friendly and informative. Convenient and affordable parking options nearby. A nice stay!

The most exquisitely decorated, spotlessly clean boutique hotel with the kindest, most accommodating proprietor. Huge shower, large bath (Glory room). Time stops here; everything is unhurried and harmonious. Stunning breakfast. Lots of gluten free options. A truly fabulous experience.

The beautiful weather and peaceful atmosphere in Ypres made it impossible to imagine the horrors of WW1. However, the restored city centre & Menin Gate make Ypres an interesting, beautiful but comtempletive place to visit. 'In Flanders Field' Museum was very informative and would recommend.
Ypres had a good variety of bars & restaurants so we were able to sample the Belgian beer & waffles - not to be missed! These bars & restaurants were busy in the evening but we did not fail to get a delicious meal. Otherwise, June did not seem to be a very busy time to visit. The roads were relatively quiet etc.
Ypres - well worth experiencing!

If you’re going to the menin gate, currently (June 24) it’s being refurbished so a lot is under tarpaulin and scaffold. However it’s recommended to get their early for 8pm last post . We arrived at 7.45pm and it was already 5 deep. So for a good view get there early.

Ypres has something for everyone.
Ypres has something for everyone. The restaurants have a variety of culinary options for every taste. Bars are friendly and comfortable with indoor and outdoor seating for drinks, a coffee, snacks or meals. Bicycles for hire mechanical or electric allow a visitor access to the countryside free from traffic and ease of viewing around the town. Tourist information in the Cloth Hall are very helpful and friendly. The historical buildings and the green environment really add towards an air of peace. A special treat is a walk along the town walls. Parking in the Market Square is not a problem nor overnight parking either. Don’t park in the Square on Friday night as there is a Market on Saturday and your car will be towed away. Shopping is a delight with supermarket, chocolate, books, fair trade and clothing all within walking distance of the Square. If Commemoration is part of your visit the Menin Gate Last Post ceremony each evening at 8 p.m. is very moving and an experience different from all others. Ypres is a gateway to Flanders: its people, its green environment, cycle paths, surrounding historical monuments with visitor centres throughout the countryside and its delicious foods.

We were a group of friends, we visited local war graves and stayed for the Last Post at the Menin Gate, which was well done and very respectful (although you need to get there at least 1 hour before the service to see anything). We do intend to visit again to explore the region further.
Hotel is just off the main market square so its in a really great location for sightseeing and the city. Check-in was easy and smooth and the staff were really helpful and friendly! The room was a good size and the bathroom was bigger than i expected and the bonus with the room was the AC unit! Breakfast was really nice, good selection of hot and cold food plus pastries and the coffee was really good to! Overall a really good nights stay both for the location and good value for money.
The staff are very friendly and always helpful. I have been to the Ariane around 4 times and I have not been since the resent renovation. The rooms are spotless and modern. The beds are phenomenal and I love the fact the Ariane gives you the manufacturer’s details if you want to order it yourself. Parking is great and the hotel is located excellent to walk into Ypres town centre and the hotel staff give you a booklet full of discounts for all the tourist attractions.
This hotel is outstanding, a traditional, comfortable hotel situated only minutes walking distance from the centre of Ypres. The owners were attentive, charming and so very helpful it felt as if we were old friends rather than guests at their outstanding establishment. The breakfast was superb and nothing was too much trouble.
Both Claire and I said we would stay there again and in fact are booking for a stay later in the year when we travel in Europe.
The Albion Hotel is well situated for visiting the town of Ypres, being just a short walk from the centre of town and the Menin Gate. The Staff were both friendly and helpful and provided lots of information. The rooms were of good size, comfortable and clean.
