Just outside Ypres, you’ll find the cozy family hotel of Flanders Lodge, with a nice winter garden restaurant and the charm of a log cabin. We were arriving a bit late to eat but we spoke to Cindy, a relatively new recruit and she was brilliant. Organised a lovely dinner for us after hours..just so happy! Then we had great service in the bar by the stalwart, Mark Always great!

It's a beautiful city with an outstanding museum - In Flanders Fields. We went to 3 pubs (bars), all of which were excellent and very friendly Perhaps not the cheapest city, but certainly one of the best and definitely worth it.
Perfect base to explore WW1 history from and enjoy Flanders in general. The roads are so easy in that part of Belgium. Ypres is a quaint city, enjoyable restaurants and pubs. Can't beat Belgian beers.
I think most people will come here for the war history of which there is much. Otherwise, there is old architecture to look at, or an array of shops, museum etc. There is a train station so it can be used as a base for further travel, if you have a car then it's a good location for Lille, Brugges etc.
The Menen Gate Ceremony is always poignant and the large amount of people that attend are always respectful. The Museum in the square is interesting. I like the "quaintness" of the town. My primary reason to visit is for the cemetaries & for the history of the area. The Belgian Chcolate and Beer isn't bad either.
A beautiful town with many interesting museums and memorials to the Great War, not to .mention the Menin Gate Last Post ceremony which is carried out daily at 22.00 hrs. Very moving! (The arch has the names of 54000 combatants who have no known grave). There are also many places on the outskirts of Ypres Apart from the war memorial, horse Horse is a vibrant, busy town with many excellent restaurants and bars. It has fabulous market, too. Altogether, a place not to be missed! We loved it, and would return in a heartbeat!
Ypres is an historical town, full of atmosphere surrounding World War 1. It was completely rebuilt after the War finished and looks great. Of course, it's a bit of a tourist magnet but the prices don't seem to be too high for all that. Plenty of eating and drinking choices and places to visit, both in the town and outside in the battlefield areas. The highlight is the nightly "Last Post" ceremony, which never feels contrived but a genuine "thank you" for the sacrifice made by all the Allied soldiers (and civilians) during the Great War. I have been a number of times and Never seem to tire of it. It deserves its place as one of Belgium's prime commemorative places to visit.
Right on pitch in the Main Square surrounded by restaurants & bars. Two minutes from Flanders Fields Museum (opposite hotel) five minutes stroll from The Menin Gate. Our spacious and very comfortable room overlooked the square but couldn’t hear any noise whatsoever at night. Room facilities more than adequate. Breakfast was good. Parking in Ypres is not easy but the staff directed me to a car park only five minutes walk away which was free of charge. Overall an excellent, well run establishment.
Hotel is just off the main market square so its in a really great location for sightseeing and the city. Check-in was easy and smooth and the staff were really helpful and friendly! The room was a good size and the bathroom was bigger than i expected and the bonus with the room was the AC unit! Breakfast was really nice, good selection of hot and cold food plus pastries and the coffee was really good to! Overall a really good nights stay both for the location and good value for money.

This hotel is outstanding, a traditional, comfortable hotel situated only minutes walking distance from the centre of Ypres. The owners were attentive, charming and so very helpful it felt as if we were old friends rather than guests at their outstanding establishment. The breakfast was superb and nothing was too much trouble. Both Claire and I said we would stay there again and in fact are booking for a stay later in the year when we travel in Europe.

This is in a very convenient and quiet location with free parking opposite yet a mere 5 minutes' walk from the centre of Ypres and 15 minutes' walk from the Menin Gate. Nice sized room with a good en-suite. The host was very friendly and helpful (tip: take his recommendations for places to eat). The breakfast was well presented, high quality and plentiful. We will definitely stay here in the future.
This hotel is very modern, has attached parking (which is a huge bonus!). The hotel is family-owned, and everyone is so nice. The room and bathroom were spotless, the bathroom was modern and spacious. The bed was comfortable. It was a great experience and I am so glad we stayed there! Our room also had a view through the sunroof of the church spire, which was awesome.

This is a four star hotel with three star prices. We had 3 rooms. All rooms are large and well appointed. The owner/manager took a lot of time interacting with guests. The hotel is a 5 minute walk to the center of Ypres "Old Town". Hotel has a parking garage, which is a miracle in the center of Ypres.
The hotel is in a quiet street in Ypres, yet less than 5 minutes walk from the main square. The breakfast is excellent, the staff very friendly and helpful, the rooms and other facilities are modern and very clean.
