Hotel Sani in Asenovgrad provides accommodations with a fitness center, a garden and a terrace. It was very clean and modern, the room was beautifully arranged with a fantastic view towards the mountain and you could not hear the boulevard when the windows are closed. The bathroom was extremely practical and spacious, the beds and pillows super comfortable. The breakfast was lovely – huge variety of homemade stuff, eggs, vegetables and fruits – following all the covid regulations about hygiene and guests not randomly touching the food.

Located in the center of Asenovgrad, within the pedestrian area and 1.2 mi away from Asenova Fortress, Hotel-Restaurant Central features a children's playground and terrace. It was perfect! The hotel is located directly in the city center. The appartment was very clean and cozy. The communication with the hotel was also very easy. There is no reception, you have to call the hotel and they give you a code, which you can use to open the door with. Everything was very easy and comfortable. I highly recommend this hotel to everyone. :)

Asen's fortress is well worth a visit. In the mountains, the wonder bridges are just that - stunning- the Thracian places Belintash and Karajov Kamak are both well worth a visit as well - if you like interesting rocks - though KK is the best part of a three hour round walk but stunning when you arrive. The local wines are excellent and the rakia unusual but very good.
The beautiful small town just 10 km away from the city of Plovdiv. A lot of nice buildings, beautiful squares and of course a large numbers of beautiful orthodox churches. The landmark of the city is Asen's Fortress, situated in magnificent nature of Rhodope Mountains. Worth every penny to visit it and the view is astonishing.
Calm and beautiful place. If you like long walks trough the hills - this is where you can enjoy the nice views, forests and interesting tracks around the town. I can highly recommend the street food, especially the "banitza" which is in so many varieties here. Walking in the streets can never be boring - there is so much to see - the river, the old buildings, chapels at almost every corner. The Asen's fortress is the must see place and I highly recommend to go to it by foot in the morning - the revealing views are indescribable.
The chapel/fortification high up on a rocky bluff just outside the town is not to be missed. You do need a reasonable head for heights and to be able to handle a lot of steps. The cost of entry in minimal. Excellent value.
Very cozy and quiet town with lots of beautiful churches and landmarks in the area. There are several hiking trails starting from here. The prices for food and lodging are very low comparing to the big cities in Bulgaria.
We had driven through Asenovgrad on several occasions but a few years ago the flight times going to Plovdiv changed and we did not land untill 8.30pm, it was winter time and snowing we had another 1.30 hrs drive to get to Smolyan so to avoid any mishaps as we decided to stay in Asenovgrad. We were very glad we did as we found it to be a very nice town with a river running through the middle and lots of shops and cafe/ bars and restaurants. we have also stayed in the summer time and it is lovely to sit by the river and enjoy a meal from one of the river side cafe/restaurants and looking at the lovely pamorama. When traveling back to Plovdiv we stop at Avenovgrad and have coffee and reflect on what a great place Bulgaria is
