Gaborone is a small city and the centre is easily walkable...

Gaborone is a small city and the centre is easily walkable but it does get very hot. The road system is good but few public transport options. Facilities overall are good with modern shopping malls, good hotels and supermarkets all in abundance. It feels safe - certainly in the city centre - and there are fewer signs of poverty and homelessness than you would see in many developed countries these days. People are generally friendly but not in your face. Plenty of eating places and often cheaper to avoid the larger hotels. If you are a runner, there are trails up to some of the hills surrounding the city or you can just loop round the centre. Best in the early morning. You'll have plenty of company.

I truly enjoyed my trip to Gaborone. The city has a welcoming atmosphere that blends modern convenience with a relaxed pace of life. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the friendliness of the people and the ease of moving around. The accommodation was comfortable, and service everywhere felt professional yet personal. I appreciated the variety of restaurants and cafes, offering both local flavors and international options. Shopping centers were well-stocked, and the nightlife had a vibrant but safe energy. What stood out most was the balance between urban development and natural beauty—parks, open spaces, and the calm surroundings made the stay refreshing. Overall, Gaborone exceeded my expectations, and I would gladly recommend it to anyone seeking a memorable experience.

Very clean, respectful people. The Beef is very delicious and also they still practice culture. Beautiful houses, nice restaurants even though I didn’t have time to see the country side of Botswana but looking forward too

So incredibly clean, city centre, malls, residential areas, everywhere. Traffic wasnt a problem and the people were very helpful. The Lion Park Resort was a super fun cooling visit for the kids too. And the Seswaa they serve...... Was out of this world

As an American expat living in South Africa, I must say that Gabarone is like a chill, laid back Johannesburg. The city itself is so modern as far as infrastructure. The people were just as friendly as South Africans. I feel like it idea for a middle-age to older person seeking a city experience that still feels relaxed and safe. It's a capital city with a small town vibe. Secure your transportation ahead of time if you are not driving because there is no Uber or Bolt.

The people are friendly and lots of activities.

The people are friendly and lots of activities. The food was good however things are a bit pricey. I was with my friends, we enjoyed the different malls. We also went to Thapong and Park27 for different lifestyles and music genres. However at some areas of Gaborone there were very huge potholes,but easy to get around as we used our own vehicle. But we had a good time because we made friends and family.

Location is brilliant perfect everything is within easy distance. The room is clean and bedding is quality. Amazing shower. Gym had just what I need, nice lounge and garden space to relax which was unexpected for a city hotel. Above all the staff outstanding. We had a disaster in that my husband ended up in the hospital and I have never experienced such warmth, care and hospitality in my life. Nothing was too much for Regent Select.
