Down-to-earth City Bordering Toronto
Mississauga is the site of Toronto Pearson Airport, so many visitors to the Ontario capital pass through without even realising. Once a Toronto suburb on the shores of Lake Ontario, Sauga (as it’s affectionately called) is now a city in its own right, though it’s not immediately obvious where one ends and the other begins.
Both have in common the broad horizon of nothing but water on one side and a skyscraper-dominated skyline on the other. The most iconic structures are the curvy Absolute World towers, said to resemble Marilyn Monroe. Over the road is one of Canada’s largest shopping centres: Square One.
More stores are in Sherway Gardens Mall near Toronto Golf Club, just one of many within Mississauga. There is also a staggering number of parks, including some lining the Credit River which enters the lake by Port Credit historic village, home to lots of cafés, restaurants and bars. Salmon migrate up the river, so fishing is popular.
The fact that this was once agricultural land inspired the design of the civic centre, overlooking the Living Arts Centre and the Art Gallery of Mississauga across Celebration Square.

One of the best hotels I have ever stayed in: within Canada and abroad. I was concerned and had to check my credit card bill to make sure I wasn;t overcharged. Great service and experience for the price. I really appreciated the accomodations from staff concerning check-in, breakfast (I left for the airpirt early, and they were kind enough to pack me a too go bag) and the free coffee in the lobby. Was going to show at Budweiser stage. Waterside Inn's proximity to Port Credit GO station was a major consideration, just a short walk ( 7 minutes ) through a pleasant hospitality district and clean residential area directly to terminal door. Loved - the size and configuration of room, closeness to airport and quality of buffet. Second stay - during the first we had a number of issues related to the hotel being newly opened, but they were graciously resolved by the manager. Very annoyed that they still haven't got their "process and systems" fixed so they know which guests have paid for breakfast. Once again you go to breakfast, only to have the concierge tell you your breakfast isn't included even though you have paid for it. Once again standing in line with my family, embarrased that I have to prove to a staff member I have indeed paid for breakfast. Sort this out, the staff are all aware of the issue, they could let guests know its a problem when they check and sort it out proactively so its not an issue in the morning. Or just presume that everyone has paid for breakfast and don't hassle guests to prove they have paid for it. Mississauga is in a great location for a quick shuttle service to YYZ. Because there was construction immediately outside on the highway that the hotel faces onto makes it a bit difficult to find out how to find the entrance, but that will be resolved once the road maintenance is completed.Guest review byNoack - 8.0

Port Credit--the lakefront community of Mississauga--is an excellent vacation spot in the summer as well as a convenient location 20mins out of the city of Toronto by the excellent GO commuter train service. Bring you ice skates in the winter to skate on the artificial ice-path by the Credit River in Port Credit.
