Located 5 minutes’ drive from the shores of Lake Huron and 2 km from Port Elgin town centre this motel offers an indoor, saltwater pool and rooms with free Wi-Fi. The beds were very comfortable and the room was very spacious. Left our I-pad in the room after checking out. The cleaning staff found it and took it to the front desk where we retrieved it after we had driven for about 35 minutes down the road and turned around. We were so grateful!
Stop 21 Motel is located in Southampton. The motel provides an Asian restaurant as well as free WiFi. Guest rooms at the motel are equipped with a private bathroom equipped with a shower. Everything was nice n clean. Very cozy place. I love that is family owned!
Facing the beachfront in Southampton, 173 High Street has free bikes and a terrace. The air-conditioned rooms provide a city view and come with a wardrobe and free WiFi. All the amenities are top-notch. Location is ideal. When we return we will go straight there!
Small town with everything you need. Beaches, nature, fine sand, best sunset, total relaxation, grocery stores everywhere. Basically everything is there. This town might be small but full of beaches and the best place to be outside a crazy and busy Toronto.
It was a cute little town. People were very friendly. I loved walking off the main Street looking at the beautiful old homes. The North Shore trail was nice to walk along. So clean with beautiful views. I ate at the The Queen Bar and Grill and Rosina's...both excellent. Ashanti's for coffee in the morning was perfect.
The little quiet town has changed much in the last 5 years: now it has modern day convenience big box stores such as Walmart, which adds convenience but takes away the charm... Budget motels are comfortable and safe to stay. The provincial parks, nearby beaches, light houses and towns are still nice to visit: Paisley has an interesting barn turned arts gift shop that hosts periodically local art exhibits on the second floor; Southampton has a nice Bruce County museum, and a local olive oil store (I sampled some flavours and bought an apron as well). Along hwy 6 northward towards Cabot Head Lighthouse, you’ll see a little bakery which sells mini eclairs for 35 cents, a must go for sweet tooth like me! The region is also within driving distance to Owen Sound, home of several waterfalls, and Harriston park that includes dozens of birds. Huron Fringe birdwatching festival (including different knowledge levels of workshops and local tours) is held yearly in Port Elgin, great 2 week event for nature lovers!
Port Elgin is a small town with a very laid back vibe. We only ate out once but but I highly recommend trying Allen's Fireside Grill. Other than a Walmart, Canadian tire and Independent Grocery Store, you will also find a Boston Pizza, Harvey's, MacDonald's, Swiss Chalet and Tim Hortons. There are also many smaller places to eat which we did not have a chance to try. Port Elgin can be fairly walkable depending on where you're situated. If you are closer to the beach, you will be slightly farther from the town centre but everything is very accessible by car. The people are very friendly no matter where you go. There are many bike trails to explore. I would also recommend visiting Creig's Caves in Lions Head. Another worthwhile trip would be to visit Tobermory to take a boat ride to Flowerpot Island. The beaches along Lake Huron are amazing and clean and Port Elgin is no exception. Warm shallow waters for anyone of any swimming ability to enjoy. Overall a great place to relax and unwind.
Nice small town within driving distance to Southampton, sauble beach and kincardine. Has all the usual shopping Walmart, giant tiger, and fast food McDonald's, kfc, Wendy's, Swiss chalet. As well as other restaurants. Nice beach or park area for sunbathing. Would recommend for families also has campgrounds.
Quaint lakeside small town with some nice restaurants and cute homes/cottages. Love the beach and also waterfront park complete with the small train. Lovely drive up to Southampton. The recent short visit brought back fond memories of other trips up there. A great area for cycling.

The beds were very comfortable. The size of the room was good for two people. Glad to have a refrigerator and microwave. I also liked that the room was a bit dark, as I do not sleep well with light. Close to Port Elgin Beach. We were able to park both our cars on the property. Close to all the places we wanted to tour. Excellent deal!! The owners were friendly.Enjoyed our time there!

We booked for one bed room with kitchen and eventually got two bed-room unit and the room was quite amazing. A bit old building but the management maintained it neat and clean. The front desk staff was very welcoming, polite and jovial. The property was right at the heart of Port Elgin down town and close to all amenities.

Great Inn keepers, fresh muffins, help yourself tea or coffee all day long. We made use of the front porch for lounging and breakfasts. The location of this inn is excellent, close to beach, SS Trolley and the downtown portion of Port Elgin.
