Lots of room, full kitchen. living room, washer and dryer, dishwasher. Lots of extras like good coffee, soap, laundry soap, some condiments, tons of good dishes, pots, bowls etc without being over crowded. Extremely quiet, lovely fireplace in living room with comfortable couch and love seat. Would stay in a place like this over a hotel room any day. Excellent value for the money. Booking.Com did not disclose was a cleaning fee so misrepresented price but when contacted host responded promptly and given how large the suite was, a very small price to pay!
Featuring garden views, Steller Jay Hollow has accommodations with a garden and a patio, around 1.8 miles from Sumac Ridge Estate Winery. The hosts Len and Heather could not have made us more welcome and even had music playing quietly for a welcoming ambiance. The accommodations are wonderful and our hosts were helpful in making us aware of some interesting places to check out in and around Summerland.
Variety of hiking / walking trails was great, as were the challenging golf courses which were carved out of a combination of mountains and canyons. E.G., some greens were pretty challenging to hit! There were a variety of different types of restaurants but beware: many (like the Chinese food place) were only open for lunch and virtually none were open past 7:30 PM. We especially enjoyed the Japanese Bistro. You have to be in pretty fit condition to hike or cycle in Summerland due the incline of many roads and trails.
Summerland Downtown had lots of small individual shops. It is near the Kettle Valley Railway which is definitely worth a trip. The lakeshore is children-friendly and has good amenities for all, young and old. There are hikes up the Giant's Head Mountain which has amazing views when you reach the top. We visited Thornhaven Winery and Lunessence Winery. They both had superb views from their patios. We received a warm welcome and our tasting was tailored to the different wines we were interested in. Everyone was ready to please.
Summerland was a quaint little place with tons of cute antique and vintage shops, local microbrewery, bakery and wonderful coffee shops. I loved walking the downtown in the mornings before it got hot! Very friendly people live here. A lovely 2 day stop over. Thank you! Check out the Country kitchen for a wonderful breakfast!
Great town for moving around the wine corridor and activity alike. Rosedale motel was wonderful clean and located within walking distance to restaurants like Zia’s and Perch bar and grill, as well as downtown Beanery cafe for brekkie, or take a hike up Giants Head mountain for some exercise. Take short drives to some beaches, shopping in penticton or wineries, visit fruit stands for great tastes to bring home!
It is a small lakeside town between Penticton and Kelowna. People are friendly and the town is lovely. Check out Detonate Brewery, the beer is fantastic. Granny's fruit stand has great food, the pies are to die for. All the businesses we saw were well laid out for social distancing and the beach was not packed like Kelowna beaches.
If you want to enjoy sunny weather and all fun water sports, at the same time do not like too crowded and noisy places, Summerland is the perfect destination. It's close to Penticton and Peachland so it's also easy to explore other places if you want to see more. There are different beaches and parks along the lakeside, it's so easy for you to settle down at any of them and spend good time with friends/family.
We had the two bedroom cabin with a full kitchen. Easy to dine in and we used the Bar-b-que for all dinners. Lots of fresh fruit in the Okanagan for Breakfast. The staff were always busy keeping the rooms and grounds clean. A quiet facility helped with our restful nights.
The hosts Len and Heather could not have made us more welcome and even had music playing quietly for a welcoming ambiance. The accommodations are wonderful and our hosts were helpful in making us aware of some interesting places to check out in and around Summerland.
Good location, pool looks nice but we did not use it due to the concern about COVID-19. Boat rental service was good. Hotel is clean and staff are nice. Very family friendly.
