I loved the rooms, clean and comfortable. The hotel staff were all really professional and friendly. The location was great to see the attractions like the ice hockey and still close enough to go to Stanley park and Gaston and all the shops in Robson St and Frankie’s restaurant.

My family and I came to participate in the Big Effort Swim event at Christina Lake. Because of a flight delay, we arrived late, but the staff kindly arranged a self-check-in for us. The motel is very clean. Groceries as well as small local eateries are within walking distance. There is also a barbecue area and a firepit in the yard, which made for a lovely place to sit in the evenings.

FAQs about hotels in Vancouver

Outstanding Capital of the Outdoors

Vancouver is an outdoorsy city ranking among the world’s most livable, sheltered by Vancouver Island and the Pacific Range mountains. The most famous peak, Grouse Mountain, is a favorite spot for hiking and skiing. Take the cable car up for magnificent views of the city's skyscrapers and huge Stanley Park.

Skirting this park is the Seawall, a popular biking trail with paths passing the Vancouver Aquarium, picnic spots and a pitch and putt course. There are also a couple of beaches, but the best ones are along English Bay in Kitsilano.

Granville Island is just across False Creek from Yaletown and houses some quirky shops and markets. Ferries depart from here to near BC Place Stadium and home field of the city’s football and soccer teams. The legendary Vancouver Canucks ice hockey team play next door at Rogers Arena.

With the largest Chinatown in North America, Gastown is the oldest part of Vancouver and is near the Canada Place cruise ship terminal.

We could go on and on about British Columbia's biggest city, but we could never do it justice, so why not try it for yourself? Booking.com has a fabulous range of accommodations, from hotels near Vancouver Airport in Richmond to downtown B&Bs and motels near all of its ferry ports.

Vancouver was great, crossing the border back to the US...

Vancouver was great, crossing the border back to the US sucks and will keep me from returning. We visited Vancouver a couple of years ago and crossing back into the United States took over 2 hours and the border guard was rude and had an ego. The time it was over an hour.

Vancouver is a beautiful city with gorgeous architecture.

Vancouver is a beautiful city with gorgeous architecture. It is a seaport city that is surrounded by mountains, lending to a mild climate. The city's beauty make it a popular location choice for movies and tv shows. Vancouver is also one of the most ethnically and linguistically diverse cities in Canada. There is so much to see and do in Vancouver that you will find yourself planning your next trip before you leave for home from your first trip. Popular attractions include Stanley Park (ride the scenic train), The Seawall, Queen Elizabeth Park, botanical gardens, Granville Island, Capiliano Suspension Bridge, whale watching, Butchard Gardens and Victoria.

I wanted to like this city, but couldn't

I wanted to like this city, but couldn't Some areas are nicer than others, like in every city, but downtown was dirty, with garbage and homeless people lying along the roads, marihuana smell everywhere The Gastown area was interesting and nice The Waterfront was full of tourists, of course Stanley Park is great, the Totem poles are fantastic, lots of walking, Beavers Lake is a nice area too. I went to Capilano Bridge with a free shuttle bus from the Waterfront, now that was breathtaking...in many ways. From the entrance to the bridge already a lot to see, to learn. The bridge itself is fantastic, moves under your feet in every way, and the view from it is great, 70m above the river. On the other side canopy walks and lots of stops to learn about this area. The trees are not as huge as in the mountains, obviously, but still big enough, and they smell amazing. If you get thirsty or hungry, there is a grill with a few choices. All in all, I spent almost a whole day there with such admiration.

We have visited Vancouver 3 times now, it is very pretty with lots to do. We use the public transport to get around because it is easy to use. Take bus 50 to Granville Island, always something interesting to see there. The VanDusen Botanical Gardens are a must. You can also do a day trip tour to Whistler, fantastic.

Visit to the Van Dusen Botanical gardens is a must.

Visit to the Van Dusen Botanical gardens is a must. The gardens are beautiful and are a nice option if you can't get to Buchart Gardens on Vancouver Island. Would not recommend Chinatown in downtown Vancouver. Too many shops closed down and drug dealing on the street was really hard to navigate with family in tow.

Vancouver was a great city to visit.

Vancouver was a great city to visit. The weather was perfect during our stay. The sceneries and city icons were worth visiting. The location of the apartment was perfect. However, the apartment was very old and weren’t well taken care of: September 16-19 788 Hamilton Street - Downtown Although the location for a tourist had perfect locations and neat. 1. Communication with the host, Alex, prior to check-in was very challenging. We only needed to drop off our luggage before returning at the designated check-in time, but unfortunately, none of our messages or texts received a response. 2. The air conditioning was insufficient, and the space became uncomfortably hot. 3. The bathroom faucet was broken and did not function properly. 4. There were no paper towels provided. 5. The closet doors require repair. 6. The air conditioning unit in the room on the right side is leaking. Initially, the heat tube was placed inside, but we later discovered it needs to be positioned outside in order to function properly. 7. There was no coffee cup and we had our coffee in the glasses

Hotel room was impeccably clean. We had a room with a lounge area and kitchenette of really good size. The bathroom was generous in size and all facilities were modern, comfortable and pleasant to the eye. Staff were very helpful (within a busy hotel). We couldn’t fault in any way. My partner used the swimming pool (another plus). We would stay again. Hotel is convenient for the city centre train (direct to the airport) and walking around Downtown is easy from here.

Great location, Easy walk to downtown Vancouver, train station / skytrain line. Lots of eateries close by. A beautiful stroll down to skywalk and Stanley park. Apartment was super clean and beds and pillows were of 5 star hotel quality which was why we chose this accommodation. Arrived after office closed but staff were attentive and let us in. Washing machine and dryer such a bonus! Communication prior to check in very responsive.

Easy walking to Gastown, Chinatown and Cruise Terminal. Very handy to the various subway lines as well. If using Canada Line from airport, it is better to exit at Vancouver/City Centre station and walk downhill to hotel than exit at Waterfront and walk up hill. Having breakfast included was a big plus and very satisfactory.
