I loved everything in this hotel. The staff was fantastic, the cleaning lady was so kind. The location is excellent, you can go walking to the main places in Downtown Vancouver. We asked for help to scheduling our whale watching and the Concierge not only made the reservation, he warned us about the day with the best weather conditions for the tour.

I had an excellent stay at the Loden Hotel. The experience felt very personalized and intimate, thanks in part to the hotel’s smaller size and warm atmosphere. I especially appreciated the thoughtful touch of always having water with citrus delivered — a small detail that made a big difference. The gym exceeded my expectations, both in terms of size and the quality of the equipment. Breakfast at the hotel’s restaurant, Tableau, was another highlight. This French restaurant offers food of truly excellent quality, making it a pleasure to start the day there. The location is superb — within walking distance of many tourist attractions and downtown, where numerous shuttle buses depart for other key sights. Overall, this hotel delivers a high-quality, personal experience in a prime location. Highly recommended.

FAQs about hotels in Vancouver

Outstanding Capital of the Outdoors

Vancouver is an outdoorsy city ranking among the world’s most livable, sheltered by Vancouver Island and the Pacific Range mountains. The most famous peak, Grouse Mountain, is a favorite spot for hiking and skiing. Take the cable car up for magnificent views of the city's skyscrapers and huge Stanley Park.

Skirting this park is the Seawall, a popular biking trail with paths passing the Vancouver Aquarium, picnic spots and a pitch and putt course. There are also a couple of beaches, but the best ones are along English Bay in Kitsilano.

Granville Island is just across False Creek from Yaletown and houses some quirky shops and markets. Ferries depart from here to near BC Place Stadium and home field of the city’s football and soccer teams. The legendary Vancouver Canucks ice hockey team play next door at Rogers Arena.

With the largest Chinatown in North America, Gastown is the oldest part of Vancouver and is near the Canada Place cruise ship terminal.

We could go on and on about British Columbia's biggest city, but we could never do it justice, so why not try it for yourself? Booking.com has a fabulous range of accommodations, from hotels near Vancouver Airport in Richmond to downtown B&Bs and motels near all of its ferry ports.

3rd time to Vancouver and I love it there.

3rd time to Vancouver and I love it there. It has everything plus wonderful people and out of this world scenery. Granville Island is amazing and you must get out on a boat trip, either whale watching or brave the water and swim with the seals. The tour operators are very respectful of their wildlife and surroundings, so you feel that you are contributing, not taking away.

Whilst the downtown area is a little sad in the current economic climate, there remains much to do in Vancouver and surrounds. It is a liveable city on the waterfront with a mild climate for the area. September is a good time to visit.

    I love this cosmopolitan city!

I love this cosmopolitan city! The population is so varied, and you can see how this has turned the city into a fascinating place with a multitude of interesting art, dining options and stores. The public art is fantastic and people are very kind and peaceful. While there is a lot of traffic, the drivers mostly remain unruffled. You can get around the city easily by public transportation or various kinds, like subway, bus, water taxi, etc. There are a lot of things to do and see, from planetariums and art museums, to shopping, live music and relaxing.

Upon arrival we found ourselves in a room too small for three adult persons, where the windows do not open, but thanks to the kind reaction of the staff we were given a nice large suite with a balcony and a kitchenette in the North Tower which was ideal for our stay in Vancouver. Our son, who is a person with disability, enjoyed the swimming pool and a gym, all of us enjoyed our stay at Sandman hotel because of its perfect location in downtown. We are grateful to the staff for a warm atmosphere during our stay at Sandman.

Maybe a little pricey for what it is (although it is Vancouver after all) but if you’re looking for a “cheaper” place to stay that is pretty well located, this is really good. Walking distance from waterfront and aquataxi, small but cute rooms and fun rooftop patio area. Also right beside a little pho restaurant that had the best spring rolls I’ve ever had
