Known for its international diplomacy, Geneva is the gateway city to the Swiss Alps and contains many international organisations that lend the lake-side city a cosmopolitan flair. It is filled with the best in cuisine, diverse languages and people, and top 5-star hotels.

    I was only in Geneva one night this time, as I was headed for Bern the next day, but I've always liked Geneva. I was pleased that I had the time before I caught the train for a walk around the central area.

    We loved Geneva , only disappointing thing was everywhere...

    We loved Geneva , only disappointing thing was everywhere was shut on the Sunday . Wish trip was longer so we could have went up to Mont Blanc . Didn’t rate the boat trip not much to see , until clouds dispersed. Then could see the tops of alps which looked stunning

    Geneva lake and surrounding is breath taking view. Public tranport is excellent. We enjoyed Bus card service which offered to toirist to travel around geneva, free of charge, during your stay in Geneva. We dine at Crown plaza, good ambiance.

    Geneva is beautiful.

    Geneva is beautiful. The lake is amazing the food is glorious, though expensive, but there are bargains to be had in supermarkets. The yellow boat/ferry back and fore is an excellent way to traverse the lake and is free. Make use of the free public transport whenever possible via the free tourist pass. Most of the hotels will be able to email you with a link to the free pass system. We took a bus from the airport to the hotel and back again for our return home. Trams and buses are free. Take the scenic boat trip, well worth the time and money. Easy to get about on foot but you can walk lots if you want. Plenty of restaurants/cafes available to eat either breakfast, lunch or dinner. However be warned, Most shops don't open Sundays, including grocery stores. Cafes will open by about 10am.

    Geneva is conveniently located for visiting various nearby areas by train and other means of transport (Annecy 1h30, Lausanne 50 minutes, Yvoire 15 minutes by train plus 20 minutes by boat, Nyon 15 minutes, etc.). As a city, it doesn’t have a huge number of attractions, but it can serve as a great base for exploring the surrounding region. Yvoire and Annecy are especially beautiful places to visit, particularly during seasons when nature is in full bloom!

    Geneva has a gorgeous location.

    Geneva has a gorgeous location. The surrounding mountains are majestic. The lake is truly beautiful. The old town is lovely and one can enjoy the many cafes. However, I din't feel comfortable walking around the lake. The cafes along the lake were not inviting. Nothing really happens on the lake, which is very disappointing. But the old town is worth seeing.

    Really good value for money. The room was small but so well adjusted. Kitchenette was well equipped only bemol no fridge in the kitchen. The staffs were super friendly and very helpful. The location for me is the best thing about this hotel. The tram / bus are right outside the hotel and a 5 min ride to the city center. Plenty of cafe restaurants and a super market just outside the hotel which was super convenient. If I ever come back to geneva I will choose this hotel with no hesitation.

    This is the best hotel I have ever stayed at in Geneva. The staff are super friendly and helpful. The single room was quite spacious and well equipped. I arrived early but the room was ready which was lovely. The location is fantastic - right next to the railway station, bus and tram connections. Even with a lot of luggage it is easy to walk there and an ideal point from which to explore the city and region. The rooms are quiet though. There is aircon to keep you warm or cool.

    I love everything about this hotel, especially the breakfast! Food variety + chef cooks whatever you want. The chocolate served at breakfast is (of course) outstanding - Switzerland at its best in hospitality. A big parking lot in the building for additional cost. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was kind and friendly. I will definitely come back again.

    The location of Kipling Manotel was great, 5 minutes walk to Cornavin station, 20 minutes walk to the old town. Train from the airport to Cornavin takes only 8 minutes. Staff were very helpful and pleasant, breakfast was very good. Room was very comfortable, and quite big for city centre hotel. I would recommend this hotel for a visit to Geneva.
