ChinaLove this place so much! The rooms are extra large and special, and the mountains are just outside the balcony! The view is picturesque. The house is over 120 years old and it was a pleasure to stay here, Gery and michel were exceptionally nice! The hotel breakfast was rich and delicious, and you can also buy tickets for excursions to the Jungfrau directly here. Thanks also to Gery for driving to the train station to pick us up. All in all, fell in love with Grindelwald because of this hotel!

Alpine Resort and Large Glaciers
Grindelwald lies at more than 1000 metres above sea level, offering top-class ski slopes and an imposing Alpine landscape. It is located in the canton of Bern, in the Jungfrau-Aletsch UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Aletsch is the largest glacier to be found in the Alps.
Although evidence shows humans have been present in the region for thousands of years, the first long-lasting settlements date back to the Middle Age. For a long period, the destiny of the village was attached to the influence of the Interlaken Abbey, until the times of the Protestant Reformation.
Tourist activity begun in the 18th century, bringing new life and wealth to the village. There was a great view from my balcony as we could see Mount Eiger facing us closely from time to time. The location of the hotel was also great as it was just 4-minute walk from the Grindelwald station. In fact, the room size was a bit small. However, the breakfast was good with variety.

Grindelwald is definitely a place to visit and stay if you want to see the mountains up close. It is a comfortable and cozy little town which has cable cars to take you up in the mountain where there are activities like Zip Line and Tobogganing. It is very accessible by Bus and Trains. There are many restaurants with multiple cuisines available.

This is the dreamy wonderland, I love here so much. I visited Grindelwald 2 times in 2025, feeling super lucky about it. Its so natural and peaceful yet very touristic in a non disturbing way. There are many hills to explore, many things to do. But you should take into consideration that its very expensive. Especially for touristic activities such as cable car.

We stayed for 3-1/2 days mostly hiking in the area in mid-August. Many tourists but manageable. Strongly, strongly suggest buying the Jungfrau Pass so you can access any trains, buses, and cable cars in the entire area. It makes it so easy to get around Grindelwald, Interlaken, Lauterbrunnen, Murren, Wengen, First, and the Eiger. We should have booked a 5 day stay as there were some other hikes and attractions we wanted to take and see. Definitely go to Glacier Canyon and walk it to the end, but take warm clothes as the canyon is quite cool even in August due to the glacial runoff. And for sure visit the base of the Eiger. Suggest you also always get up early and get transport to your destination as late mornings (August) can be very busy and cause long lines.

Grindelwald is like a Swiss Fairytale.
Grindelwald is like a Swiss Fairytale. All the wonderful Swiss Chalets, the incomparable alps, the charming Swiss people. Grindelwald is definitely a tourist town with shops selling all the Swiss trinkets, but that's part of the charm. No other place can you travel up to the famous Jungfrau and take in all that mountain offers. It's truly an adventure.

The staff was very nice.
It's a quiet place at Grindelwald away from the crowd. This is really pleasant.
Great and modern room.
The shared kitchen in the evening is something unusual to me in a hotel and I really liked it. Some people cooked. I could reheat one meal or some milk. This makes this hotel also original.
The walk to the city center is enjoyable who those who are not afraid of steep paths. But there is a bus too near the hotel for others.

Comfortable room and bed. Of four hotels I stayed in and notified I was vegan, this was the only one to reply and they brought in soya yoghurt and milk especially and there was dairy free spread anyway. This made breakfast more balanced for me. The views from our room and the breakfast bar are stunning. There is traffic noise, but you would get that in most places in Grindelwald and it was quiet by later evening anyway so it isn't a problem

The hotel has a good location to know grindewald by foot, go up to jungfrau and to first. It was a luxury small Winter resort with good parking for the car. The staffs are very kindly and polite, specially Rodolfo, that make delicious eggs at the breakfast.
