The location is great, and they have several restaurants and bars to choose from. The staff is wonderful and the concierge services are impeccable! The breakfast is pretty good with a nice Buffett and egg station with a chef to cook your eggs. The shops on the first and second floors are nice and have some interesting options! Amazing views from the lakeside rooms! The wine tasting areas 20 minutes away by car are excellent!

The property is very modern & clean! The bed is very comfortable and the view from the balcony is amazing. The staff was super nice and welcoming! The train is located next to the train station which spared me to carry my bags too long. You can hear the train passing but i didn’t mind it since it wasn’t too intense of a noise. Will come back!

We had an absolute great stay. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful in all regards. Our room had an amazing view of lake Geneva and Montreux. The front of the hotel you could the fog rising from the forests and covering Mt. Rochers de Naye and when it clears up - simply unbelievable. The train station is only a few paces from the hotel, which can take you directly up to the mountain peak (hiking to the top takes a while, but the views are worth it) or down to Montreux itself. Breakfast was great, but the evening meal was five star!! It was the perfect way to celebrate out 30th wedding anniversary. (They even played our song!!) Truly a magical getaway.

We loved the location, and how easy it was to get around. There’s a bus stop directly opposite the hotel’s entrance which easily gets to and from the train station. Very nearby, there’s a train stop which easily gets to Montreux station in a few minutes, while the other direction goes up to Rochers de Naye for magnificent views. The breakfast was lovely too, and the staff, friendly and helpful. The room was very comfortable, although small, it was nice, with a balcony overlooking the street in front. It’s also walkable all the way to Freddie Mercury statue but the streets were quite steep, but was ok for us.

The view of the lake was amazing. The hotel staff were helpful and friendly. I sincerely appreciate the male staff member who kindly guided us to the bikes and helped with the rental. It had all the facilities I needed, including free bikes and even snacks available in the lobby.

Somewhere to Love

Surrounded by Lake Geneva and glorious Alpine peaks, tranquil Montreux has enchanted artistes through the ages. Lord Byron was so inspired by the style and setting of waterfront Château de Chillon that he wrote a poem about it. Nowadays it is one of Switzerland’s most popular attractions.

Freddie Mercury also fell in love with Montreux and a lakefront statue in Place du Marché commemorates this former resident in typical pose, with one arm raised to the heavens. Queen fans flock here for the annual Memorial Day, just one musical festival hosted by this town. The most famous is the 2-week Montreux Jazz Festival, held in the Music & Convention Centre.

On the opposite side of town is Audiorama (the Swiss National Audiovisual Museum), near a funicular railway which climbs the hill. Further up the slopes is the family-friendly Rochers-de-Naye ski area, while the Les Pléiades pistes overlook neighbouring Vevey. Down at the quayside wooden chalets house stalls of the annual Christmas market.

Summer activities include boat trips, hiking and the Montreux-Oberland-Bernois narrow gauge railway whose trains allow you to really savour the views…and a nice cup of coffee.

The train station also connects to Geneva, site of the nearest airport, and Booking.com offers luxury hotels, apartments with views and cheap B&Bs nearby.

    Montreux is a beautiful town, located on Lake Geneva, surrounded by mountains. Great dining, lovely flower lined promenade stretching for several kilometres along the lakeside. Great train services to many parts of Switzerland, especially the Golden Pass Express, which runs between Montreux and Interlaken, travelling through amazing landscapes, Special mention if you are a Queen fan is the Freddie Tour, which is an amazing tour and commentary about the time that Freddie Mercury and the band spent in Montreux's Mountain Studios, and the town, visiting locations where they hung out, and learning a true insight to Freddie. Will certainly return to this fabulous town.

    Visiting Montreux has been such a delightful experience. The city is very clean, with beautiful gardens that invite you to stroll and enjoy every corner. People are kind and welcoming, which makes the stay even more special. Definitely a place I would love to return to.

    Montreux was a nice location to go to Rocher de Naye.

    Montreux was a nice location to go to Rocher de Naye. There were some great walks in the neighbourhood like 'Gorges de Chauderons'. There are plenty of bars and restaurants. The view of the lake was great. Montreux was not the cleanest town/city we visited in Switzerland.

    We were there for the Montreux Jazz Festival and also did Roche the Naze, Mont Pelerrin, castle Chillon and the old Town which was really spectacular. The festival is a must do and hopefully we can return. We dined at Safran in the Mona Hotel excellent. The Fouquet at the casino- could do better, and also Montreux Jazz Cafe. Trianon in Mt Pelerrin which were all good. Lots of little cafes and patisseries. Most enjoyable for the first time- full of life and kind people.

    We were there for the Jazz festival; a wonderful eclectic selection of bands and artists in a beautiful location along the Montreux shoreline. But it would have been almost as good, at any other time. The lakeside location with its embankement/shoreline path, running for miles to east and west simply invites endless ambling. Swimming from the rocks is lovely, as is stopping at the various bars and cafe's that puntuate the shoreline. And all that is against the backdrop of the mountains; always 'there', sometimes near, sometimes far.

    Montreux is a very convenient base for travel in Western Switzerland. If traveling by rail, Montreux station is a terminus for the Chocolate Train, the Golden Pass Express, and rapid express trains to Geneva and Lausanne. The Lake Geneva ferry piers are also just a short walk from the train station, as is the bus to Chillon Castle. However, you do have to watch out for pick pocket schemes. We saw young adult pickpockets working individual tourists near Chillon Castle and near the ferry piers - and they weren't particularly hard to detect.

    We had a wonderful experience staying here. The hotel's location is one of the best in Montreux with spectacular views of the lake and a short walk from the railway station. The staff was very friendly and very kind, and they upgraded both our rooms. The breakfast was excellent and had a wide range of choices. The rooms were clean; best part was the views of the lake and the balconies. We would highly recommend staying here.

    Very friendly and helpful staff who speak very good English. The location is exceptional, and very close to the cog railway (free with the travel pass issued by the hotel) which takes you to Montreux or up to the top of the mountain. Free parking at the hotel. The views from the terrace are stunning. The restaurant on site has an extensive menu, including a vegetarian option.

    One of the best experiences I ever had when it comes to hotels. Both Francois and Palmi have demonstrated high level of customer service and patience. I will definitely stay in La Rouvenaz during my next visit of Montreux. Especially Room 500 :) You can write books about this room. Great job to hotel owners, managers and professional front office personnel.
