Poschiavo is tranquil and serene place. Small town but big enough to walk if you want a calm quiet moment. I found this place is a bit cheaper to eat in the restaurant than in places like zermatt. The borge (town centre) is very beautiful (and quiet, as it is almost car-free). Many interesting sights, small workshops, museums, cultural and architectural things to see and explore. Friendly people. Once you have seen it all, start exploring the whole of the valley that offers everything from the Bernina Hospizio down to Tirano in Valtalina vallley. Lots of interesting architecture, pretty villas and palazzos. Museums not open in the winter which is a shame. Great to use as stop-over on the Bernina train line. Poschiavo in February was quiet and beautiful. Coming in and out on the train with a view of the lake and the whole valley was an incredible experience. It was lovely to stroll through the town at night and in the sun and get a true feel for the culture in the region in the midst of incredible natural beauty. Had a complimentary room upgrade to a much nicer room with splendid mountain views. 😍 Room was spacious and clean, especially liked having a Balcony and also Kettle to make tea. No noise at all. Spacious and clean. Washing machine for clothes available. Wi-Fi very strong. Always fast response from host to any question. For food, large supermaket (Co-op) is next door to the station, open mon, tue, thu, fri, sat. We found it so much better to stay in this apartment than in a hotel. Breakfast was good. Located right in the middle of this pretty little town - we just stopped overnight while travelling the Bernina Express.
