They have the best croissants on the planet. We booked a small room which was fine for a one-night stay. We went for a short walk and enjoyed a nap outside on the lounge chairs (with cozy blankets provided). The terrasse offers stunning views and dinner was delicious, with large portions.

A pristine mountain town at the foothills of the Alps, 10 min. Train ride from St. Moritz. Hardly any people. It felt like we were in the twilight zone, very picturesque with a lovely museum and great pastry!

Very pleased with Samedan as a location.
Very pleased with Samedan as a location. Far less glitzy or expensive than Pontresina or St Moritz, but a very pleasant workaday town with excellent transport connections in all directions and good facilities including places to eat.

Great place to stay if you are visiting St Moritz.
Great place to stay if you are visiting St Moritz. If you are staying in St Moritz Samedan is a great option because it’s cheaper, only 7 minutes away by train and many hotels are just a short walk from the railway station unlike in St Moritz where you will have to take a bus or a taxi if you have luggage to get to the hotel

Nice small city.
Nice small city. Very good base for approaching the ski resort Corviglia and other, as well. Good shopping posssibilitiess. Easy to access. Despite the heavy snowing municipal services are working very well - street cleaning, bus and train connection.

Unfortunately, there are no longer any normal, affordable restaurants like there used to be in the Upper Engadine; perhaps the locals need to relearn that there are also summer tourists. The proof: the Upper Engadine was simply empty this summer. A real shame.

We loved everything about the Engadine.
We loved everything about the Engadine. The scenery, the villages, the architecture—everything was wonderful. The food was great everywhere, and the people were very friendly. Getting around by public transport or bicycle was easy. The free mountain railway pass was fantastic.

The hotel is built into one of those old typical "Engadin" houses. You feel like being in a century earlier, with the wooden floors telling every move, heating or water lines crashing all quietness and small windows trying to enlighten your room kingdom. The hotel's crew is very welcoming and helpful.

A very spacious room with newly renovated facilities. Bed was the best I had in my 2 weeks across Switzerland moving into 6 hotels.
Breakfast was a warm plate of eggs and bacon that you can order, as well as tea, and was the most hospitable breakfast I experienced.
