SwitzerlandThe hotel is perfect. It’s charming, clean and in a fabulous location between the Solothurn train station and the bridge into the Old Town. We booked two rooms for New Year’s Eve (a single for my teenaged niece) and it was the best value for money. The staff are super friendly and helpful (they made some modifications to our reservations and Daniela was super sweet at checkin and when we got cappuccinos, hot chocolate and croissants after breakfast had officially closed. They have a fabulous coffee machine available to guests next to the gorgeous area to drink and relax. Decor is very pretty! The beds are comfortable, linens are soft, and the rooms are very quiet. Super clean with great hot water and water pressure in the showers. Rooms accessible by elevator, so I will be bringing my older mom here, too. Now my favorite hotel in Solothurn (and my husband is from Solothurn and we’ve stayed in many hotels here). There is also an apartment where you can book individual rooms with shared kitchen and bathroom at great prices on this site. Highly recommended and can’t wait to return.

Beautiful historical riverside town with a superb Cathedral . It has many interesting old buildings, towers and an Art Museum, (closed on Mondays). It’s a lovely place to wander around, but beware of cyclists approaching from behind with no warning, especially on the footpaths by the river where there are ‘No cycling’ signs, as we were nearly knocked over a couple of times. Eating out is quite expensive in Solothurn, and on a Sunday evening there were not many places open, but we did find a Chinese takeaway with a few tables inside where we had a nice meal. Solothurn is easy to walk around on foot and is quite compact. Be sure to look out for the beautiful Town Clock tower.

Solothurn's Arsenal Museum has the largest public-access collection of medieval and renaissance arms and armour in Switzerland, and is a great mind-opnener to visit. Solothurn is a walled medieval town that suffered the ravages of the Wars of Religion, but now has historic buildings and architecture everywhere. The riverside is a pleasant gathering place for locals and visitors alike. Beautiful town!

As a Swiss person, I didn't know Solothurn! It was surprisingly beautiful! Very beautiful historical buildings, the Aare River flowing right through the city provides wonderful places to linger, with small parks, cafes and restaurants.

A pleasant city, easy to get around on foot, by bike, and even by car. Enjoy spending time in one of the many small restaurants and bars along the Aare River! There are plenty of opportunities for walks and cycling activities in the surrounding area. Thank you for this wonderful experience. -Jean

Location excellent, in the middle of the old part of the town - The hotel is dog friendly with no additionnal charges, they themselve have a dog which is often at the reception. Excellent buffet breakfast with a selection of cheese, cold meats, boiled egg, cereals, juices, selection of fresh bread, croissant and roles, they provided some gluten free bread at request, teas and coffes included as well in the breakfast. They have a number of themed rooms which was quite interesting.

It is very convenient for access to Solothurn plus there's a supermarket very close by. Nice touch that there's an area with a kettle, plates and microwave (although I don't speak Swiss German so I'm still not totally sure whether we were meant to use them!)
Room was very clean and the check-in process was fairly straight forward. Great off-street parking and, for Solothurn, relatively inexpensive.

The staff is super helpful and friendly, the hotel location is perfect. The hotel provides limited parking space (secured and clean) so make sure you prebook if needed. our room is nice and clean with all the necessary amenities. The breakfast is with plenty of options. We also had dinner at the hotel restaurant, the food is very good.

Location is good as very close to river and city centre (10 min walk). There are indeed some parking slots available for the car, depending on arrival time.
Wifi is ok
Hotel very clean with self service checkin available very easy to use.
Breakfast is good but expected a little bit more.
