United StatesMi Casa is a wonderful place to stay and I highly recommend it. We arrived early, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. They gave us coffee, and prepared our room so that we could check in early. The hotel is beautiful, and warm with lots of nice woodwork. Beautiful views of the volcano and town, and just a few minutes walk from markets and the waterfront. Staff were incredibly warm and friendly.

United StatesWe stayed in the cabin rather than the main house and loved it. Beds are super comfortable, shower has lots of hot water and good pressure and everything runs off solar there so although portable phone chargers were de rigeur and wifi didn't always work in our room, it was always perfect in the main house. The kerosene heater heated up the place in no time and it stayed toasty warm. Lots of blankets, too, if you prefer that.
Klaus and Marcela are wonderful hosts and we enjoyed a couple of excellent home cooked dinners with them as both are excellent cooks. Breakfasts are equally delicious as bread and spreads are homemade and their coffee is some of the best we've had in Chile.
Really, our hosts are what made it truly special to stay there. They are delightful, friendly people and they went out of their way to help us with some issues we had with our car rental. Klaus speaks excellent English in case your Spanish is as shaky as mine.
The hostel is located a couple of km outside town, but it has a lovely stony beach just a 3 minute walk away for relaxing and watching the sunset and looking for seals and dolphins. Very peaceful.
Due to issues with the satellite reception, we had to pay in cash, and we had no luck with the only ATM in town, so prepare accordingly.

ChileMy boyfriend and I arrived at the Michimahuida cabins as the first destination on our trip to the Carretera Austral. Our stay in the place was short, however we managed to establish a super pleasant and friendly communication with Nano, the owner of the place and his work team, who treated us in a super warm and close way. I must also mention that Nano was a good support for us, during the trip, with recommendations, and giving his help after we suffered an accident on the road. We are fine, nothing happened to us, however we had to alter the order of everything a bit and Nano in a super disinterested way helped us.

United StatesThis place just opened and is in a brand new house. It is so clean and new! The couple running it are so nice and welcoming. The husband speaks fluent English and the wife is Columbian, so I could understand her Spanish easier than the Chileans! The breakfast was great, with eggs and sausage and bread. I paid extra for dinner, and the dessert was homemade and really good! The dinner was good too. But yum the dessert! I would recommend this place. Such nice hospitality!
I didn’t give the highest rating for Location only because you can’t really walk to town.

Chaitén a lovely little town.
Chaitén a lovely little town. Its volcanic history is awe inspiring. Really interesting. Lots of places closed though, and it’s summer!! Seems a bit like a ghost town at weekends. The Patagonia green tour company well worth a visit, a great tour to the volcano and waterfall.

I loved Chaitén; it's clear it was rebuilt with care and good taste. There's so much to explore and so much to relax in. We didn't have enough time to visit the El Amarillo hot springs, but we were able to enjoy the walks and the drives.

Chaitén has a good selection of restaurants for visitors, delicious cafes, and is close to beautiful attractions such as Pumalín Park and Corcovado Park, where you can go trekking along beautiful trails.

I love the people, and there are so many beautiful trails...
I love the people, and there are so many beautiful trails and waterfalls. You have to go several times to see all those lovely places. We had lunch at Cocinaría El Puerto, which was excellent. El Flamenco has exquisite menus at reasonable prices. At El Volcán restaurant, they serve a delicious nalca (Chilean rhubarb) dish. A great place to visit.

The city and accommodations are excellent.
The city and accommodations are excellent. The bad points: 1. The shipping company was 4 hours late for the first leg of the journey and 1.5 hours late for the second leg. 2. The road is terrible, over 60 kilometers of gravel.

Route 7 from Caleta Gonzalo to Chaitén is absolutely beautiful, perfect for a leisurely drive with stops along the way. The vegetation, the giant nalca plants, the ferns, the ancient alerce trees... everything deserves to be admired.

Let me start with the host, Cristofer is very welcoming and kind. He went above and beyond to make us feel at home, this property has been made with love and you can tell on every detail.
They keep the place very clean, their beds are comfortable, their breakfast ia superb, and they are walking distance to many shops around town and the Costanera (the coastline).
I would love to go back to Chaitén and stay at Verdeagua again, I recommend this place 100%

We booked after arriving Chaiten but the owner immediately contacted us through whatsapp with the precise location. It is like renting the whole property and the comfortness and design/atmosphere was beyond our expectations! Nice living room with a sofa and stove. We felt like home and loved it so much.

Lovely hosts! Clean and comfortable room with a good shower. The hotel was perfectly located to walk into town or up to the nearby mirador. We also loved the breakfast. Also accepts card payments and offers laundry services which was an added bonus.

Extremely cosy accommodation in a small woodland right beside the town of Chaiten. We extended our stay here due to the comfort of the cabin and the hospitality of the owner Ignacio. Excellent stay!
