The use of shipping containers to construct a hotel is absolutely amazing. (4 floors high!!) I loved reading the history of the creator of this design - a New Zealander who got his idea after the 2011 earthquake in Auckland, when the city resorted to repurposing/reusing what they had to rebuild structure. I wandered around for my first 3 hours on the property, just taking photos, with my mouth agape, in awe. The complimentary breakfast, was one of the best I've ever eaten ANYWHERE. So many choices, such delicious home-made granola, all just extraordinary. The plants, the combination of colors, everything was just awe-inspiring. Also, the support staff, were incredibly kind, helpful, and English-proficient. They went out of their ways to be helpful, which I very much appreciated as a 71 year old woman.

This hotel is in a great location on Cerro Alegre. The decor is eclectic and wonderful, our suite (room 12) was spacious and had an extremely comfortable king bed. Breakfast was on the terrace and included fresh orange juice, scrambled eggs, and pesto tomatoes along with the usual breads, cheese and meat. Delicious.

I'm trying to find words to describe this place and their entire team. From the first contact I could feel attention and concern for us. When we arrived Catalina welcomed us so well that we were impressed. She told us about the city with a tourist map and helped us understand a little about it. Stunning location, looking out over the city and in the heart of the old part at heart of old city. Everything is on the doorstep - the hotel is beautifully done and Karen ( the owner ) was stunningly friendly and helpful. Do take a sea view if you can - you won’t regret it.
