This hotel compound is AMAZING! Definitely one of the best in Lijiang, massive value for money. Our room was huge, like a small apartment - with beautiful ancient Chinese interior design. It feels like a true Lijiang experience, with gorgeous architecture and the design of the villa compound. Conveniently located right next to Old Town (take the side door). The side door takes you to a quieter area of Old Town (still has all the same stuff, but with fewer crowds). Having the hotel close to the road makes it possible to travel out of Lijiang for day trips easily. Has a gym, pool, good restaurants, a cafe with mountain views....you really couldn't ask for any more. Also this is the first hotel I've seen in China give your multiple free soft drinks with your room, it's a nice touch. They also give you authentic Yunnan tea and a tea set in your room to really round out the experience.

The location is perfect. The scenery is so beautiful. The staff is incredibly warm and helpful. They make you feel like you’re at home. The hotel and facilities are lovely.

Perfect in every way. Located on a quiet cobblestone lane in Shuhe Gucheng, you are minutes from the mountains, a variety if restaurants and shops, and in the middle of magical scenery. Carol and Johnson are excellent hosts, good cooks, and full of useful insight and advice on traveling the nearby environs. Come to get away from it all while being right in the center of historic Lijiang!
