It’s a place that invites you to slow down, soak in the scenery, and feel genuinely connected to nature and local life.
However, the only negative to say is that many roads are not paved, which is due to the government's and private conflicts, for such a tourist area is a shame to see that. Hopefully it can improve.

Super great local lake getaway vibes.
Super great local lake getaway vibes. Take a boat tour of the lake (sizes range from a private solo tour up to a big party boat); climb the gigantic rock if you don’t mind the 650 steps up & down; visit the vegan restaurant a couple blocks off the main square; talk to the locals - they’re super friendly!

Guatape is beautiful and the food is 10/10.
Guatape is beautiful and the food is 10/10. It’s the complete opposite of the city though so it depends on what vibe you are looking for. I definitely would recommend staying at the Brown’s if you are spending a night or two in Guatape. We went there for dinner and then again to spend the day at the beach club snd it was amazing.

It is a full house and perfect for a family staying for a few days. For us, or anyone staying one night, I would say this. It is difficult to find after dark, but the owner did send a tuk tuk to get us after we couldn't find it.

What a great place to visit.
What a great place to visit. We are coming back to climb Piedre del Penol and spend more time with the friendliest people I've ever met with beautiful zocalos, art, restaurants, I can't say enough good things.

The hotel is beautiful, with amazing views. Breakfast is included and served buffet style. The two restaurants have great food options that taste wonderful and were (in our opinion) very affordable for the quality. The staff is very responsive and alert to your needs. /you can get a free tuktuk to the restaurant, and transportation from the hotel to Guatape town is not that expensive should you want to explore it during the day.

The bed was huge, the hottub warm and the fridge filled with drinks. We had a fantastic time. Checkout at 1pm is perfect. We went to the rock in de morning and afterwards we could take a shower before leaving.
View was nice, on the lake, mountains and the guatape rock!

The pool area was fantastic! Our 16, 14 & 12 year olds loved it. Music playing poolside and food service available. Reception was very attentive, in organising laundry and tuktuks into Guatape!
