Beautiful city.
Beautiful city. Since it was my first trip to Colombia I stayed about 2 weeks in Manizales, I needed to get my bearings and learn to take the buses, the money, etc. I got tired of being in the city and when I discovered how gorgeous the country around it is, I took off to some of the parks, springs and smaller towns. It is an extremely scenic area, even the city, with makes SanFrancisco look flat. It's at the top of a mountain. The people are unbelievably nice and polite! Loved it. Don't miss the cathedral. Manizales is an amazing city - it is very safe, clean and beautiful scenery. It is one of the safest cities I have traveled to in the world, without feeling nervous at anytime. I feel safer in Manizales than many cities in the United States and Europe. Definitely the safest city in Latin America and I have travelled to virtually every country in LATAM with the exception of the Guyanas.Guest review byAnonymous

All the staff were so friendly (especially Jorge who was patient with our Spanish!). We stayed in the main hotel, and the view was really incredible. The bed was so comfortable. We did the coffee tour which involves a walk around their farm, picking coffee, an explanation of the processing of beans and then sampling the various ways coffee is brewed. The food was delicious. Just minutes outside of Manizales it feels like one has arrived in the countryside. The properties are large and full of local flora and many birds including hummingbirds.
