AustraliaWe loved our stay here! We booked a family room which had a double bed, bunk bed and private bathroom and it was perfect for 3 of us. We ended up staying another night in Salento and luckily were able to extend our stay at CTBH in the same room. Our room included breakfast which was nice and varied, a choice of either choc chip pancakes, French toast or scrambled eggs and toast - all came with fruit. The hostel is definitely on the more boutique end, as it is beautiful and spacious, but still offers social activities and arranges different tours like mountain bike riding and horseback riding. The 24 hour tea and coffee available is amazing, as is how clean the place is kept including communal bathrooms. Our room was cleaned during our stay and we loved the amenities provided in the bathroom. The two huge hostel dogs are also a major positive about this place!
It is further out of Salento than other accommodations, but this means it is more peaceful and quiet, and it is only about a 10-15 minute walk to get to the main square, restaurants and supermarkets

CanadaTierra Maravilla is a wonderful place. The room was so comfortable, clean, and had a nice view of the mountains. The staff were so friendly and kind - I had food posioning 2 days prior to arriving and they were so helpful and checked in on me often. The hot water shower was amazing and the bed was huge and comfortable. 10/10.

United StatesThis place is fantastic! Diego made this a truly unforgettable experience. We did the horse back tour through the property with Diego. His dogs also came along for the ride! We encountered some cows grazing in the mountains on our ride. Highly recommend adding that too, Diego is a great guide and the horses were kind.
Would keep in mind that you can not really use Jeep Willys as transportation. However, there is a private driver that can take you to wherever you’d like for a decent price. The breakfast was fantastic and kept you full for the many activities Diego and the Coccora Valley have to offer.

CanadaThe staff were extremely friendly and helpful. VERY accommodating. The breakfast was excellent. I dont believe ewe had better pancakes or scrambled eggs anywhere else! The location…you cant get better then this (well, without a view that is). It's right by the main square, but still quiet without the busy noise! Oh, and yes, there is still a bit of a view from the front terrace. We also appreciated the bottled water and coffee available everyday near the front desk (though the coffee usually was missing). Excellent value here.

Beautiful small town nested in the Coffee growing region.
Beautiful small town nested in the Coffee growing region. Great location to explore around other towns, and the famous Cocora Valley.
I am not sure if Salento or Filandia was used as the inspiration for Encanto (the movie).
Calle Real in Salento is full of small arts and crafts stores and plenty of restaurants to choose from.
We spent 2 night there and thought it was the right amount of time.
We ate dinner at El Patio which had live music, good food and service. Had lunch at Casa Willy’s (jeep) great food and good service too.
You can walk around and it is very safe.
My only recommendation is try not to drive into Salento at night, very dark, narrow road with tons of sharp curves, this drive at night is only for people experienced in driving in Colombia. Driving there at daylight is not an issue.

Scenery, shopping, dining, culture, excursions to Valle de Cocora, horseback riding, photo opportunities, charming, colorful buildings, a close bus ride from Pereira. And don't miss all of the coffee shops. You will find a favorite. You are in the coffee axis!

Salento is beautiful- a picturesque, Jurassic like gateway to the Cocora valley. Really chill town- great food- clean and safe. All around great vibes- especially at my Hilltop Hostal. Sunsets are spectacular from the jacuzzi and wrap around deck.

It is a great town with a lot of vibrancy and energy! The town itself is quite small, but it offers a lot for a 3-to 4-day stay. Numerous restaurants offer excellent food options. The main square is vibrant at night, and it's worth spending a couple of hours there, soaking in the energy and fun. The main street (Calle Real) has great shopping options for tourists. It also has a couple of places that offer great live music. Mirador and the steps leading to the top offer great views of the mountains and the valley. Take a jeep ride to Cocora Valley and enjoy the mountains and the river.

Salento is a magical town!
Salento is a magical town! its streets are colorful and people are really kind. You must try "Arroz con leche" from El Cesar Sabor Celestial. Literally is the best rice pudding in the world!!! it's really famous.

The hotel is very well located at the edge of Salento. There is few noise, but it ends around 21.30 pm. The apartment is clean and spacious, the kitchen is well equipped. The best plus is for the owner, which is very nice and helps you with everything you need. He arranged for us a transfer at the airport at 3 am. We highly recommend this aparthotel, we wish we could have stayed more.

The Hotel is around 10min by foot from the main square in Salento away which was also quite ok.
