Great hostel, central position with a lot of offer of bars and restaurants. The rooms are nice and clean. There are 2 kitchens and 3 shared bathrooms. Wifi was working great. The staff was super helpful and helped us organizing our stay and our trasports. They offer many activities, we partecipated to the Tejo night, very cool! And there is a pool on the terrace!

Stop scrolling through Booking, this is the perfect spot. Outside of town, but perfectly located on the main road to all the best adventure activities so it is super easy to catch a bus or taxi and the staff are always happy to help whether you're looking for public or private transportation. The restaurant on site is wonderful and there are a few other food options on the same complex. The rooms are very modern, spacious and extremely well kept. The bathroom comes well stocked with toiletries and their signature scent is really lovely, gosh I miss it! Everything is well ventilated so you can leave your gear to dry after watersports or if you would prefer to have it cleaned immediately, the laundry service is super quick and very affordable. Overall a really great spot at face value but the Trip Monkey staff are what really makes it special! Joss speaks perfect English and gives phenomenal recommendations. Give him an idea of what you like and he will have the perfect itinerary for you in seconds. There are a lot of great activities available through the hotel, all of which he has tried himself so just know the recommendations are coming straight from the heart! As an added bonus, you can pay for most of them through the hotel as well so you do not have to worry about carrying extra cash exploring. Fernando is an absolute sweetheart as well and always eager to help. The Santander region is extremely beautiful with something for everyone and Trip Monkey del Río is the perfect base camp. Stay as long as you can, this is the perfect place to make lifelong memories with the most wonderful people ☺️

We got a room that faced the main road. It was loud all night long (traffic plus the bathroom had a knocking sound). Not ideal for a light sleeper. The grounds had many amenities and there is access to go the river where you could see the rafters float by. The service was great from the front desk, to maintenance, to the kitchen staff who graciously stored our leftover food and heated it up for us the next day. The location was great because it was outside of busy San gil but still in close proximity to restaurants.
