Cahuita is a hidden gem. It’s a small, quiet peaceful place to stay that is near to Puerto Viejo, but without the noise. The beaches and wildlife were wonderful, and we loved visiting Cahuita National Park. There is a bus stop in Cahuita which goes to Puerta Viejo. We loved eating at many of the local restaurants. Cahuita has not yet been commercialized. There are souvenir shops, but it is mainly untouched and undeveloped. Location is in front of playa Negra and few restaurants, about 1 km from Cahuita center where more restaurants can be found. Delicious! The apartment was very clean and big, in the centre of Cahuita, 5 minutes walking distance to Cahuita National Park and 10 minutes walking distance to Playa Negra.
