It is worth spending time in Fortuna.
It is worth spending time in Fortuna. Unfortunately it was raining, and I got influenza. Fortunately I got to do the hot springs, the hanging bridges and Rio Celeste before I started to feel really sick. I enjoyed the tours fully and shout out to the guides for their caring, and uplifting guidance. Fortuna is easy to get around and everything is within reach, including laundry, local travel agencies, and bus service for budget travelers, with route San Jose or Alejuela ( La Radial Terminal) - Cuidad Quesada - La Fortuna.

The centre is not over touristified.
The centre is not over touristified. A few good supermarkets. A good variety of food options, with some good Sodas. A lot of accommodation to choose from. Nice Central Park.
Many activities to choose from, and easy to get transport to them if you don’t have a car.
The Mundo 12 zip lines can’t be missed.

We enjoyed the area and while we did a lot including driving...
We enjoyed the area and while we did a lot including driving to Monteverde for zipline tour, we chose one day of pampering rather than adventure so did not hike around Arenal or paddle board on Arenal. We did white water rafting between Puerto Viejo and Fortuna. We did waterfall repelling near Fortuna (amazing). The people are friendly and the area is lovely. We enjoyed a night time nature tour with our hotel (Noah's Landing) and Nayara Gardens was amazing. We saw plenty of sloths but so much more! We went to the Mistico hanging bridges on a rainy day which worked well-it did not matter. We also visited the Fortuna Waterfall (500 steps down-then 500 steps up but worth it!) If you like adventure- there is plenty. If you want to relax-it is a beautiful place to do so.

This is a great area to experience Costa Rica and the wildlife. We visited Mistico hanging bridges (great with a guide as located creatures we would not have); La Fortuna waterfall (no guide needed); Sky adventures (aerial tram, zip lines & trails); sloth guided tour; Arenal Observatory Lodge & Trails (day pass with lunch) - all of which we would recommend!

It is difficult to get around in Costa Rica.
It is difficult to get around in Costa Rica. They have on main major highway and you must get off that highway to get to Jaco and Fortuna. The roads are windy and it takes forever to get somewhere. It took us 3.5 hours to get from Fortuna to San Jose and it is less than 100 miles. This is due to the windy roads which are typically one lane in each direction. However, it is a beautiful drive. Just be prepared!
If you are in the Jaco area, do not miss Villa Caletas. Has an amazing view. We stayed at the Marriott Vacation Club at Los Suenos in Garabito. It is a beautiful property.

This is a real gem of a hotel. The location is beautiful - a few minutes drive out of La Fortuna but definitely worth being a little further out for the tranquility. We spotted lots of birds in the grounds including Toucans. Great staff - in particular Kevin whose frog tour was one of the highlights of our stay. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice but lunch and dinner options quite expensive. Would love to return here - it really is a very special place indeed.

It is located in the center of La Fortuna which is very convenient. The breakfast is amazing! We especially love the Muesli. The staff are extremely nice and try their best to help you. The reception lady even offered to do our laundry sind all laundry services were closed and we needed to wash our clothes urgently. They have air conditioning and hot water. The hotel has everything you need. I would definitely come back to this place if I’m in La Fortuna!

The hotel is centrally located in La Fortuna town. It has all the amenities including parking on the property, two pools, and really nice breakfast buffet. There is complimentary coffee and tea all day. You have access to the spa in another hotel complex -roughly 12 min away by car - and towels are also given for free for the swimming pool and spa.

Great hotel overall. Exceptional staff that was very helpful with every request we had and always ready to recommend us things to do in the Fortuna/Arenal area. Breakfast was good, but the highlight was the view to the garden from the breakfast restaurant. Room was clean but nothing extraordinary.

Great hotel! Beautiful rooms and facilities were perfect! La Fortuna town is only 40 min walk, and to be honest the hotel is in a stunning area. Breakfast was super good!
