AbkhaziaThis was a last minute booking on Christmas Eve due to our flight home being canceled. The family who owns this property was SO welcoming and warm, especially Heydey and Josue. They helped us find a restaurant that was open on Christmas Eve and arranged for our meal delivery.
The room was clean, the air conditioner worked well + ceiling fan, the bathroom was clean and everything worked well.
The breakfast was AMAZING! This isn't a skimpy Continental breakfast. It's a full on cooked breakfast. You get to choose amongst about 8 different meal choices. It includes Costa Rican style food and more generic eggs and bacon type meals. There is fresh fruit, coffee and tea.
There are nice seating areas outside to chat with other travelers. There's an open air courtyard that has cool plants.
The rooms aren't flashy and slick like a typical American hotel. But our bed was firm and comfortable. The value of this room was EXCELLENT.
But the most notable quality of this hotel was the owner's desire to make this a home away from home for the guests. Such amazing kindness that helped us through a stressful night!

CanadaThe property was beautiful! The room was spacious and clean. I loved the atmosphere and the nice pool. It was very quiet which was very much needed after a week in Tamarindo. Perfect way to finish my trip to Costa Rica. The food at the restaurant on property was also very good. The staff was amazing, especially Luis!

CanadaThis lodge was my favorite stay during the entire trip I was in Costa Rica. I love the rooms with the hammocks on the balcony. The food was good for the price and the staff were excellent.
I also loved our excursion with the horses. I highly recommend this to anyone.

HungaryIt has a couple of places to have dinner, for which the staff reserves you a table in a minute through WhatsApp. Many birds in the garden. Spacious resort, where you cannot feel there are other tourists. The room and the bathroom are much bigger than needed. Many activities around. The garden is just perfectly maintained. We felt safe everywhere. Each place we could go outside the resort had staff - absolutely fantastic! Thanks!

Costa Rica is wonderful and the central park in Liberia was a really nice place to stop and have lunch. The park has a statue commemorating the actions of Juan Santamaria, Costa Rica's national hero. It is a great story detailing human courage and how important one man can be in the greater scheme of things.

It´s a well developed city at the heart of Guanacaste.
It´s a well developed city at the heart of Guanacaste. You can find all the main businesses and stores in the country. It´s also conveniently located near the main tourist attractions like Rincon de la Vieja national park, La Leona waterfall hike, Santa Rosa National Park and the Papagayo peninsula beaches among others.

I used Liberia as a transfer point to get into southern Nicaragua. It was a far better option for me than flying into Managua. Liberia was great for that reason. I did not explore beyond the Liberia hotel location. I thought that my hotel was pricey for what I got-- $80 for a 3 star average hotel. HOWEVER, the hotels out by the airport are as expensive ($150-170 U.S.) as a San Francisco airport hotel. There is a shuttle charge of about $30 to get from Liberia to hotel (about 9 miles). Take a Uber for $11 U.S. and they drop you a few hundred yards from airport. I know that people need to make money, but I have a budget too--Uber was the way to go. I hear that Uber is not legal, but it worked for me.

This hotel is a great choice if you have an early morning flight, as its location near the airport is incredibly convenient. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the staff is professional and accommodating.

We stayed overnight after our flight from Toronto, as we wanted to be well rested for our 2 hour drive to Samara. The airport shuttle was very handy and we didn't have to wait long for it. The hotel had a wide variety of options, and the complimentary breakfast bar was the best part; lots of choices of food. It is somewhat expensive, but it suited our needs. Will definitely stay at this hotel again.

We stayed in Liberia to visit the nearby Palo Verde park. The hotel offered secure car parking. The restaurants in town were only a short riving distance away - please note that there aren't many options within short walking distance from it.

There is not much choice of hotels in Liberia. For our last night before flying out it was fine. It's just by the highway, so easy access to the airport. It's a bit dated but our room was clean. Breakfast was very good.
