Everything from the staff, the setting, the location, and the food was perfect. Everyone was attentive and gave us great recommendations on what to do while we were visiting the area. The garden area was one of the nicest places to hang out in all of the places that we visited in Costa Rica!

We stayed at Hotel Tajalin for three nights and had a wonderful experience. The hotel is ideally situated in a peaceful area, yet close to key attractions like the beach, town center, and waterfalls. The staff were exceptional—friendly and welcoming. They provided comprehensive information about local attractions and arranged tours with local agencies, including Isla Tortuga, Bioluminescence, and Snorkeling. Cindy, one of the staff members, offers Spanish and English classes. I took a Spanish class with her, which was incredibly helpful in refreshing my language skills. The rooms and shared kitchen were spotless. Overall, I highly recommend Hotel Tajalin to anyone visiting Montezuma.

Great spot for Yoga lovers, food is great (mostly veggie), amazing views and access to the hanging bridges. The staff is very friendly and will help you with anything. There is some construction going on in some rooms but I did not hear anything. You need a car as this is on top of a very steep hill.

The experience on the property was truly exceptional. Dorian, the owner, is not only incredibly knowledgeable about the area but also deeply passionate about sharing it. His insight into the local nature and culture added a unique depth to our stay—almost like having a personal guide. This was a great location--close enough to town but not too close to have to deal with the craziness in the evenings. The pool was a great addition to come back to after a day in the ocean and a dinner out. We just relaxed in the quiet of the pool-- loved it.

10/10. The staff were very pleasant to deal with, they helped us book tours and gave us advice on things to do in the area. The hotel was clean and beds were comfy! The included breakfast and 5 course tasting at Ubin was great.

This was an unbelievably beautiful property! The dining area, pool side, and property are exceptional! The view from this hilltop location was great; it was breezy and pleasant even on a hot day. The staff were very kind and welcoming and the food is fabulous!! The included breakfast is wonderful and we had 2 delicious dinners as well. Great atmosphere!

    There were people from all parts of the world in one little town. It is worth exploring the surrounding areas, because the actual town of Montezuma is rather small. There are different dining and lodging options for all tastes and budgets. The town/beach is at the bottom of a very steep hill, and getting up and down could be a challenge for walkers.

    Some great restaurants!

    Some great restaurants! We especially enjoyed Playa de Los Artistas, Soda La Naranja, and Cocolores. We also enjoyed morning yoga at Ylang Ylang, the accessibility of the beach, and the walkability of the town and local waterfalls. Fun music scene at night if that’s your thing.

    Montezuma is a quiet beach town, has enough places to eat, a grocery store, but is not a party place. Our house was up the heal, between the trees with lots of birds and animals around. In the evenings we would sit outside, but keep the windows and doors closed, that nothing could go in. We had airconditioning, but we just used it to cool off the place, then it stayed cool for the night. Lots of beaches to choose from and lots of waterfalls to visit.

    montezuma and its beach are overestimated: generally dirty whereas Costa Rica constantly shows great respect for its natural surroundings. Not worth the diversions at all! Except for the road and the scenery to get there

    You must have a car to get around to the beaches of...

    You must have a car to get around to the beaches of Montezuma and the roads are rough. Grocery stores are hard to find if you want to cook at all in your rented villa. Ocean super warm and wonderful--loved Tambor beach. Wonderful fresh fish market there.

    Very small town with little to do. 3-5 nights is more than enough time to see the area. Tourists (and locals) on loud motorbikes and ATVs are everywhere day and night. Not the quiet jungle getaway we imagined.

    I loved my stay here with a very sweet family. The atmosphere was super chill and I could not believe how good a deal the price when we were served up a hot breakfast of coffee and gallo pinto each day! The internet was strong and stable, everything was cleaned daily, there was access to a well-stocked kitchen, and the hostel is centrally located so that the beach and supermarket and cafe's are just a step from the door. I will definitely stay here again if I return to Montezuma.

    The hostel is in a good location, close to the beach and the waterfall and supermarket. It has some nice community areas. The kitchen is well equipped. You pretty much live together with the people running the hotel, but if you want you can find that a bit charming too! We rented the apartment, and it was nice to have your own kitchen (but be aware of monkeytheft!).

    The view and the balcony, the bridge, the yummie breakfast, the waterfall, the pool and the spacial room and shower space. Happy n friendly staff. Also adored the coffee maker in the room. Adorable! And appreciate gettin like three towels per person (one mini). Actually possible to walk to Montezuma though the hills are veryveryvery steep

    The hotel was our favourite in Costa Rica . The room was comfortable, although the 73 steps to reach were a challenge. The upside was that the room was level with the tree line and so just feet away from the cute monkeys . The atmosphere at the hotel was relaxed and a genuine pleasure. The staff too were lovely. Great place.

    This hotel is very well located in Montezuma. It was calm, relaxing, comfortable and also very close to restaurants and the stores. The staff was wonderful, friendly and very helpful to help find transportation to our next location and for recommendations for our stay in town. The pool was amazing. I would highly recommend.
