What a delightful stay we had here in this brand new hotel. The design of the hotel is well planned with 8 rooms surrounding the pool and garden, with delightful sitting area in the courtyard right outside of the rooms, as well as lounge chairs around the pool in the garden. There is excellent sound proof walls, so we did not hear the neighbours, but design is great so that guests could enjoy the company of others if they chose to. The rooms were beautifully simple, comfortable beds with the best linens we have ever had at a hotel, and very spacious so that we could easily do yoga inside or outside whichever we decided to. It is a family run business, and the owners are very organized and cleanliness is a 10+, and moreover they are so friendly and helpful in every way. If we could we would stay there much longer as we liked the setting, the rooms were so comfortable, we enjoyed the pool in the evenings and the owners were so helpful and kind.

The place is beautiful, with incredible views of the mountains, total tranquility. Even though it's the rainy season, it's wonderful to enjoy the forest from above, the little birds, the mist over the trees. The staff is amazing, kind, attentive, super friendly, and eager to make sure you have an unforgettable experience. The food at Taru restaurant is marvelous, the wine cellar has an amazing wine selection, and the sommelier takes the time to show you all the options you have. The room had a work area, which was perfect since I had a couple of meetings. The internet never failed. The coffee in the room was perfect, making you feel so comfortable that you don't have to leave. The entire place is designed for you to enjoy, relax, and be worry-free. They pick you up and bring you back from your private suite to the restaurant, pool, or just because...... They genuinely care about you so that, as a guest, you don’t have to worry about anything except relaxing and having a great time.

Ocotal beach and the surrounding beaches are mostly for sun-bathing and wading. There are warnings for undertow. The sand is sharp volcanic cinder sand, thus a mix from dust to small stones. I can be uncomfortable to walk on some portions of the beach with bare feet. The beaches are very clean, uncrowded and very scenic. It is easily accessed.

Lovely beach, nice kids playground, some shade on the beach from overhanging trees. Very few activities nearby unless you want to fish or go out on a yacht. Father Roosters hours 11-9 serves good drinks and meals at American prices.

Having a car made it possible to visit several beaches in the area-Ocotal , Coco, Hermosa, Potrero, Brasilito and Conchal ( the shell beach!) We loved the bird sounds and feeling of seclusion. Soda Teresita at the Coco Beachfront was good for cheap Costa Rican food. Watch out for the sand fleas at sunset!

We loved this beach much more than the neighbouring Coco Beach. It was quiet, clean and perfect for families just wanting to chill without the hustle and bustle of a crowd. You can grab a bite to eat at Father Roosters on the beach which has delicious food and drinks. If you can stay to watch the beautiful sunset 🌅

This Bed and Breakfast is excellent value for your $. The location is very hilly so great walks to the beach and up to higher neighborhoods for excellent views. The breakfast was great and an opportunity to meet other travellers. There are a couple of restaurants within walking distance and you may need a car or a cab for dinner after dark. I also took advantage of the day pass at Maracuya - great value to use their pool, beach and restaurant. Its about 20-25 min walk from the Hotel Ocotal.

My stay was too short - would definitely come back again If the opportunity arises. The staff was so helpful, even scheduled for someone from a Lab to come to our villa to take our covid tests for the return home, which was so convenient for us.

The bed & breakfast is in an elevated position overlooking Playa Ocotal and enjoys spectacular views from the terrace. Great pool with loungers and comfortable bedrooms - quality bedding with each having a private outdoor area and patio furniture. Owners are warm & welcoming and very responsive to emails/WhatsApp messages. There is secure parking on site. Ocotal beach is approximately 15 mins away on foot and has a great restaurant, otherwise for the majority of restaurants it means a drive into Coco.Beach.

Breakfast was ok, the staff was amazing. Very helpful and went out of their way to make my stay better. The location is great if you want to be away from the crowds, but transport can be a pain without a car. Ocotal beach is only a 10 minute walk though. And there's a small grocery store right outside, which is very convenient.

Location was fantastic, ideally located for the beach. Rooms were clean and comfortable and all necessary information was received in advance. So nice to have a dip in the infinity pool after a hot day. The chef that came up to the hotel to make breakfast was lovely and breakfast was delicious.
