We went to see our daughter.
We went to see our daughter. There is a huge amount to do on Cyprus and Nicosia is a great base for doing it from. Lots to do in the city and good access to the coast and mountains. Inside the Venetian walls has quite a nice feel and there are plenty of restaurants and shops as well as museums, churches and other attractions. A trip to the North is also worthwhile. Thoroughly recommend Sawa Restaurant (a Syrian Restaurant at Klimentos 31, Nicosia 1061). Very nice courtyard venue, great Meze, good wine and alcohol list, attentive service.

Crossing the border was exciting but saddening at the same time. Old Town was interesting and contrast with new town very marked. Good value. Botanical garden was worth a visit,relaxing and pleasant surroundings.

A lot of redevelopment underway but parts were very run down. We were able to walk to the border and cross into Northern Cyprus. Interesting g but a little sad to see a divided city in 2023. Exchange rate currently makes the North seem very low prices. Euros were preferred currency for taxis. I didn't bring enough.

I really really loved the old city center, the streets and houses were so beautiful and charming, I just wandered for a few hours and took pictures. I also enjoyed the old Orthodox churches, they were beautiful and I could find some leaflets in English in most of them, with important historical information. The center also has a lot of nice cafes, restaurants, shops. It was great for 2 days of relaxation.

It was an outstanding vacation. With many impressions, excitement and positive emotions. Despite the fact that there are no beaches in Nicosia, the nearest beach is 40 minutes away by car. The city is extremely beautiful and orderly. For plant lovers, this is a true paradise. The food is delicious, interesting and plentiful, and the price is more than fair.

Everything about this hotel is amazing. Nicolas greeted us at midnight in the most warming way. The room is very high-tech; lights and AC can be controlled from the TV, an app, or switches on either side of the bed. The bed, pillows, and shower were extremely relaxing. Evi and the restaurant staff set us in such an amazing mood for the rest of the day every day.
