Breclav is a Czech town near the border. It certainly would not be regarded as a "destination", as there wasn't anything special about it. Breclav just fit into our itinerary. It would appeal more to locals than tourists.
The tourist office were truly helpful. We enjoyed just being in a Czech town. It doesn’t have a huge amount to offer, it was just interesting to see normal rather than a touristy place. We went to the synagogue and Jewish cemetery . We enjoyed walking with a reason. We were sad not to get properly into the modern Catholic Church as it looked to have interesting stain glass windows. The architecture was very modern. We also walked to the castle, medieval and basic rather than like Lednice etc. and also the older Catholic Church which was very different to the modern one. We were suggested to eat at Park Restaurnant near the station. Compared with what we had been spending this was expensive at £25 for 2 for a large meal with wine. It was delicious, worth every crown and the staff were charming and English speaking.we are not keen on goulash etc so had not really enjoyed traditional Czech food. Here there was more modern food well prepared. Czech food was also available, we were just happy to avoid it! Particularly as we are not great carnivores. It was terribly uninteresting- looking from the outside but charming inside with a lovely play area for children. We had a delightful experience in the evening so returned for an early lunch before catching our train. As with the area there were a lot of cyclists around and it was a starting point for trips either long or short. Transport was excellent

1) It was quite, neat, well maintained and decent just as I like it; the heating system was warm enough for a person of colour 😊 2) I was a solo-traveller, so it was impressive that the owner willing to text back and forth, even about things that were out of scope for her, and 3) The owner went above and beyond to make my stay really enjoyable. So, obviously that will be my first stop when next I return to Břeclav.

A very reasonable stopgap if you travel Moravia. A good local pub with pizza oven and occasional roast just by the street, plus a solid restaurant some 300m left. And a Coop general store next to the pub. In 20 min, you can be either in Slovakia or in Austria. It is you who decide. Enjoyed a stay. We have watered the plants on a balcony, just for a record ;-) Breclav is a great town to take a short break.

We were there for 1 night only but left wanting to stay longer - primarily due to the charm of the staff and owners as they worked to make two very foreign visitors happy. As for the accommodation: for what one would expect for the price of a standard business hotel, we got much better.

The Pension was around 10 minutes walk from Breclav station. Although the receptionist didn't speak any English we managed to communicate effectively and she was very helpful and friendly. No breakfast available, but I had an evening coffee and a rather nice slice of cheesecake.

There's no breakfast in the hotel but there's a nearby cakehouse and you can pay for your own food there. The guy who communicated to me was nice enough to let me stay a few more hours till i was able to search for a new hotel for our next sightseeing area .
