The location was perfect, you can walk everywhere. The breakfast was excellent and the staff friendly and helpful. They have private secured parking, a bonus! Plenty of places to eat for everyone 's budget. The staff served us cappuccinos at breakfast, a very nice touch.

We had a huge bedroom on the 10th floor with an amazing panorama of the surroundings. The bathroom was really comfy with extra goods (e.g. toothpaste) you may have forgotten, also aimed at children. The beds were comfy. There were many different items at breakfast and I especially enjoyed the freshly brewn coffee. Staff at the reception and in the breakfast room/ restaurant was warmhearted

The hotel exceeded our expectations. Staff was friendly and helpful, room was clean and spacious with hair dryer in the bathroom. Also there was a small fridge(payed minibar) and an electric kettle with cups in the room, several tea bags and coffee 3in1 sticks for free. Breakfast was rich and delicious and there were chairs for children. Location is perfect, just in historical center of Jicin, very convenient start point for Prachovske Skaly visit. Small but free parking. We stayed with 1.5 year child, there were absolutely no problems. One of the best hotels in CR in this price category which we have ever visited.

This hotel is so close the national park you can walk there in the evening for free. We were able to enjoy the park almost entirely to ourselves and we took lots of great photos. The hotel is really kid friendly and that brings a lot of fun energy. The staff was incredibly friendly and really took care of us. My dad recommend this hotel based on his stay 30 years ago. It is great to see that nothing has changed and they are still a fantastic spot.

Fantastic location in the historic center of the town. It's quiet, safe and private, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. We have stayed U Krale during our previous visits, and will likely return if we travel across the Pond and to the Czech Republic again.

An amazing small town with the beautiful city centre from...

An amazing small town with the beautiful city centre from 17th century with a palace, tower you can climb, local cartoon hero Rumcajs, 2 km Linden alley to take you a bit out of town to Zebin hill you can climb. Also so many beautiful sites so close around the town: Prachovske skaly - 5 km (Prachov rock nature park), Humprecht castle - 15 km, Trosky castle - 15 km, Kost castle (20 km) and many others.

Beautiful area of Chezhia.

Beautiful area of Chezhia. So many different spots to go see the rock formations/columns. We visited Prachovske Skaly which was INCREDIBLE. Different hikes you can do depending on the difficulty and length. Vranov Castle also worth visiting.

Small town with a few interesting places to see.

Small town with a few interesting places to see. But nothing much in comparison with other bigger cities. The town is located near Prachov rocks (about 40 minutes away), which is the reason why I chose to stay there. Overall, the town is worth a day of visit. More time could be spent in Prachov rocks and the castles/palaces nearby.

Jicin is most charming by night, when it is quiet and romantic. The huge number of cars parking in the main old town square is a problem in all Czech towns. Don't expect to do any shopping after 5 pm unless you have a car to drive to a big market outside the town centre. There are rather few places to eat anything other than pizza or kebab (the sports hall halfway to Wallenstein lodge had a good though not cheap restaurant). For such a small town, the historical architecture is really impressive, but what we loved most was the walk in the wild forest park behind the Wallenstein lodge 2km from the centre down the unique linden alley and to the Jewish cemetery near the lodge. There's also a v. interesting Jewish cultural centre in Židovská 100 (dedicated to Jewish writers of the German language). To visit these places inside, you need to call them in advance.

This is a nice town.

This is a nice town. The reason we traveled here was so that we could explore the Cesky Raj park and have a nice hotel and restaurants for the evenings. It was easy to walk from the bus or train station to the main square. We would suggest traveling by bus from Praha instead of the train as we did because the bus trip is shorter. And it was easy to take a train or taxi to the parts of the park which we wanted to explore. There were several choices of restaurants and there was even a local market on the town square on Saturday. I wished that we had had more time to explore the city. The people we met in the restaurants were friendly and our hotel was amazing. Just be aware that we were off season and that most of the castles in the Czech Republic are closed starting Nov. 1 until spring. We were able to see some of the castles from the distance, but not able to explore them closer or tour them during our stay.

Jičín is a pleasant town for tourists with a range of events...

Jičín is a pleasant town for tourists with a range of events for every week of the season. Nice and clear offer of activities on the website of the info center. The surroundings are also very nice and interesting for easy walks and trips. Very good services, cafes, bakeries and restaurants, interesting markets. Great pedestrian zone.

Great place to stay at Jicin area! The apartment is very spacious, the bathroom and shower room are very nice, the beds were comfortable and the kitchen and living room furniture were very good. The hosts are very nice and helpful. The barbecue area and gas grill outside are also very good
