I had originally booked another hotel in Cesky Krumlov through Booking.com but when the hotel refused to honour the booking, apparently due to an insufficiently long stay, I was forced at the last minute to find another hotel in the area. It was a happy accident as I was very well pleased with this hotel I booked two rooms, one for my wife and I and a single for my daughter, and both rooms were spacious, comfortable, well-appointed and very good value for money. Although I did not opt to pay extra for breakfast, we had a late dinner in the hotel restaurant when we arrived later in the evening and the food was good and the staff were friendly. I was also impressed with the location of the hotel, just a couple blocks from the centre of town. I also appreciated having access to free, secure off-street parking behind the hotel.

The hotel location is exceptional,just next to the famous Chateau, which I can say is one of the most beautiful castels in Europe. The hotel rooms are spacious and clean, the furnishing suiting the entire royal castle theme Breakfast and dinner were generous with the most polite and friendly staff always eager to offer a friendly smile and help. The well thought of and selected choices of calming music always playing in the background of the restaurant and courtyard is fascinating and welcoming. I had a slightly different idea, my room was clean, tidy, but quite dated. It had a fridge, microwave, TV, radio and hotplates, but the bathroom and equipment were quite like from the last century. Other rooms were on a much higher level.

I arranged a stay at the last minute after the operator cancelled our reservation at another destination. Hotel Rychta was very accommodating in everything, the stay completely met our expectations. A tourist trip to the Kratochvíle Chateau and to Prachatice completely satisfied the two-day stay. Next time we will also visit the local museum, unfortunately they were closed on Mondays as usual.
