This place is absolutely amazing. Not only it is situated in a lovely location - a quite grounds of lovely villas, but the hotel itself has a wonderful atmosphere. All staff are amazing. "The boss" who does not like to be called that seems like a wonderful person, who treats not only his guests, but also his staff very well. The breakfast is to die for. I have never had macaroons for breakfast anywhere else. Some of the yummy delicacies on offer were even home-made. We will stay again!

Large, very comfortable room with all needed facilities and more. Extremely friendly and helpful staff: during our bus ride to the hotel, my husband lost his cellphone, and they went the extra mile to help us. (Phone was found!) The decoration of the hotel is beautiful, the location is in theb old town, in the vicinity of the Convent of St Agnes of Bohemia, where you find (part of) the National Gallery, and in a very quiet street.

FAQs about hotels in Prague

Discover the Magic of Prague

The Czech capital is nothing short of magical, with Prague’s countless bridges, cathedrals, domes and castles reflected in the Vltava River. Thankfully, the city escaped most of WWII’s destruction, leaving the rich history and fairytale facade of this Bohemian city intact.

Prague Castle is the largest ancient castle complex in the world and the St. Vitus Cathedral is a stunning example of Gothic architecture. The Cathedral’s lookout tower rewards those willing to climb 300 steps with the best view of the city.

Walking through the cobblestone streets of the Mala Strana district will bring you to the Charles Bridge. Prague’s beautiful 14th-century monument buzzes with musicians and local crafts sales. The Astronomical Clock, Tyn Church, and Storch building of Old Town compete for popularity with the neoclassical Estate Theatre and the Czech National Museum.

The cafes and restaurants of Wenceslas Square are great for people watching and the Franz Kafka house, the Old New Synagogue and Frank Gehry’s Dancing House are perfect for soaking up history.

Flights arriving at Vaclav Havel International Airport will be in the city center after a short subway ride. For historic hotels, cheap hostels or charming apartments head to Booking.com for nearly 700 accommodations in Prague.

We spent the weekend there and loved walking around Old Town. The Charles Bridge and Old Town were very crowded with tourists, making it a bit difficult to get around. Food was fantastic! Unfortunately everything closes down early on Sunday, so we didn't get to the restaurant we wanted, however, we visited one that we'd been to on our first day. Food was excellent. Lots to see, lots of history. A very walkable city. Interesting to see Old Town and then turn a corner and be in the ritzy, expensive shopping district. Lots of shopping arears. Would definitely go back.

The city is full of interesting history and offers a beautiful romantic setting at night. Plenty of restaurant options and shopping. The locals I must were not all user friendly to offer advice or instructions about navigating various tours. I advise you to purchase museum tickets online. Unlike other countries, you don’t just show up to get in line. They work on a limited time schedule. The big red bus is the best way to venture around hopping on and off the bus. The river tour in my opinion was a bit worthless as it doesn’t go far and showed no more than Ihad already saw. Hopping off and on the local train also made it interesting, but you can get turned around. Don’t bother getting the local currency, unless you want to go around trying to figure the different coin values. Credit cards are accepted throughout the city.

Food and drink was very good value and the quality of places was pretty accurately assessed by the Trip Advisor reviews we read before entering. A couple of the nicer restaurants were fully booked, so for some pre-booking would be advised, if you can be that organised. We took a tour around on the train-like vehicle that was based in the main square, it was an enjoyable tour and great value at 300Cz per person, for about an hour's journey. Beware when exiting the airport, we were approached by a lady dressed officially who offered to help us get the right taxi. We ended up in a taxi parked in a close by carpark and, although metered, cost way more than we expected, over double the cost of the Uber we took on the way back... only use the taxis immediately outside the airport, or book an Uber where costs are known up front.... we were definitely conned, much to my annoyance of myself for falling for it.

    The most beautiful buildings.

The most beautiful buildings. Great beer & a lively cafe & bar culture. Easy to walk around to see the sites & trams were easy to hop on and hop off. 3 nights was perfect. There is a big musical culture in Prague, we saw everything from Jazz, Irish music through to a wonderful 1 hr Vivaldi concert. Recommend the Jazz River Cruise with dinner Stay close to the Old Town Square for best night atmosphere.

Really nice city break, I stayed for 4 nights, 3 full days and 2 half days, which I'd probably say is 1 day more than I really needed, but really enjoyed my time there all the same. Possibly the cleanest city that I've ever visited, the streets are immaculate everywhere in Prague. So many beautiful buildings/churches, lots of great towers to walk up and see the view from. St Nicholas Church in Lesser Town in particular was a real highlight for me, as was the Steel Art Museum on the Old Town side of the river. Fat Cat Old Town was my favourite restaurant of choice, excellent burgers and the most welcoming staff. Really lovely walkable city that I'm glad I visited, without having too many major landmarks to its name. Well worth a 3 day visit

I loved everything about this hotel. It was immaculately clean and always smelt fresh (I guess that's why it's named Hotel Essence)! Breakfast was good and the location of the property was excellent - 5 minutes walk to the Old Town square. The rooms are a great size with an oversize bathroom. However the best thing about this hotel is the Reception staff - they were super friendly and helpful whenever I had any questions. The best trained staff I have come across in my 2 months of travel across Europe😊

I really enjoyed my 3-night stay here. My room was a good size 'single', more like a double, bed was comfy and there was a bath with a shower. The bath was a luxury! The hotel is well located, a short walk to the Old Town Square, and 15 minutes to the Charles Bridge. The reception staff were very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was very good, a good selection of cereal, hot dishes and breads and rolls. Lots of places to eat nearby. Would totally recommend Betlam Club Hotel as a place to stay.
