Hotel has been updated, just about everything is brand new, to include elevator. Large room with comfortable bed and a table with 2 chairs and a desk with 1 chair. Plenty of parking. Breakfast was amazing- one of the best we've had in our month long trip around Germany/Austria. Spa was nice, had a dry sauna (85C), a bio sauna (35C) and a very nice rest area with chairs and beds, kudos. Less than 1km from amazing hiking/run along river, did a 10miler every morning, loved it. Hotel is not on lake but it isn't too far away- had a nice dinner on lake, many good restaurants near by.

I loved my balcony with a view of the Alps. It was the perfect place to have my first cup of coffee--with a kettle and coffee provided. I don't know why other reviewers complained about the reception staff. Both women I dealt with were excellent. The restaurant next door had great food, and there too the staff were very friendly. I came to Penzberg to go to the very good art museum. If I had more to do there, I would have stayed at the hotel longer.

    Fabulous hotel. Gorgeous location with amazing views. Really good restaurant for dinner and a lovely breakfast. Very friendly staff that speak really good English. This time two of us had single rooms - both were small but perfectly fine for a one night say. Comfortable beds and a good shower.
