We were a bit concerned as there were a huge group of students at the hotel (2 - 3 coaches) and they were quite noisy and dominated the lobby. No-one was at the front desk and we needed to phone. However they came promptly. Check in was easy and luckily our room was really quiet - thank you!. There was a good breakfast including a pancake machine.

We really enjoyed our 4 nights at the Kaiserin Augusta. The location just across the square from the station is very convenient. It's a fairly pleasant 15 minute walk into the centre of town, or you can hop on a bus. In many towns/cities the area around the station is dirty and seedy - this is not the case in Weimar where it is quiet and clean and pleasant.
The room was spacious and comfortable, with an extra chair and table to sit by, and well designed furniture. The windows opened and there was a radiator you could control. The shower was brilliant.
The foyer area of the hotel is spacious and welcoming and there was a room where we could leave our luggage until check-in time.
The breakfasts were really delicious. We hadn't booked any in advance but ended up having breakfast every day. We also ate our evening meal in the hotel restaurant twice, the main courses were very good (Thüringer beef and dumplings for example), the desserts less so.
The staff at the hotel were lovely. The terrace by the restaurant didn't seem to be open yet for the summer, and when we asked we were told we couldn't sit there because it hadn't been cleaned. The next morning, the same member of staff was out there with a bowl of soapy water scrubbing the tables and chairs so that we could sit out there after breakfast with our coffee. What excellent service!

Beautiful hotel centrally located, just a block away from the Bauhaus Museum. We were offered an upgrade to a room with a beautiful park view. Loved it!

The room was enormous, furnished in good taste, well accessorized.
The persons staffing the reception were helpful, eager to assist despite the fact that I don't speak German and they don't quite speak English. But they always managed to understand me and helped gladly.
The breakfast was very good.

There were a wide variety of items at the breakfast buffet for every taste. The location was just outside the historic district, but easily in walking distance to all local sights in Weimar. Some attractions such as the cemetery where Goethe is buried, is right next to the hotel. The train station is a bit of a hike, but no problem for anybody with two healthy legs.
The room interior was nothing special, but fit for purpose for a 2-3 day stay.

After the original booking in Villa Hentzel was cancelled due to non-availability of staff, the new (alternative) booking was Hotel Liszt. Great location, close to downtown. Spacious rooms. OK breakfast, have seen better ones in such category and priced hotels.
