the breakfast was very nice. the hotel was located in a picturesque location near a stream. my wife and daughter took some bread down to the stream to feed several swans. also, the gasthaus accepted visa credit card for payment, which was a pleasant surprise. the staff was very welcoming and friendly.

Excellent value for money if you are looking for a place to sleep while driving through Germany. Check in super simple and there is no time limitations. You can come anytime and check in using a code. Free parking in front of the door is a huge bonus. Rooms are fully equipped and clean. You can buy breakfast at the petrol station 100 meters away.

    I visited Kallmünz with my 4-year-old and it was such a charming little town. The cobblestone alleys and beautiful view of the river made it a lovely place to stroll around. We discovered a fantastic playground where my daughter played happily for quite a while, which gave me time to relax and take in the atmosphere. The whole town felt quiet, cozy, and very relaxing. Before leaving, we stopped by a bakery and also enjoyed coffee and ice cream at a small café, which was the perfect way to end our visit. I know there’s more to explore—like kayaking on the river or walking up to the castle ruins—but we didn’t have time this trip. All in all, Kallmünz is definitely worth a visit, especially for families looking for a peaceful and picturesque outing.

    The Pension Im Malerwinkel is a lovingly kept lodging in a beautiful town. The staff is personable and very professional. Beautiful art by Josef Georg Miller decorates the walls. His art is treasured by the proprietors and linked with Kallmünz’s history. The Pension is quite convenient for bicycle tourists. Lastly, the breakfast, included in the price, is plentiful, fresh and delicious.

    The location was exceptional. Beautiful scenery next to a lovely natural peaceful river. Hotel was easy to find and the reception and breakfast was very good. The hotel belongs in the highest category for quality of workmanship and cleanliness. Beautiful wooden fittings and carvings as well as some very good wall paintings promoting the area.

    Good hotel pension, nice people. We booked the 2 storey maisonette, and bathroom is not on the same level as bedroom. Balcony with a lovely view. Superb location. Comfortable bed, had a good night rest, very secluded quiet location. Will book again but will ask for an en-suite room.
