I have stayed at Renaissance-era hotels before, but this hotel is truly a late Gothic Schloss. Not neo-Gothic, but 15th-century late Gothic. Of course you have to enjoy historic hotels, but if you do, this one is unforgettable. We had truly original Gothic decorations on our balcony and a WC in a Gothic tower. To maintain the historic character, the owners have tried not to overwhelm the place with modern technology, so don't expect a giant TV screen. But do expect a truly lovely historic breakfast room and by far the most beautiful building in the whole town, a tourist site in itself! No trip to the Mosel is complete with a stay in Hotel Schloss Zell!

Located in the pedestrian area of Zell’s historic centre, this non-smoking hotel is near the famous “Schwarze Katze” fountain, just 100 metres from the River Moselle. Very friendly and helpful staff! Good tasteful food in the restaurant Quo Vadis! Center located! Good value for money! I recommend it!

This hotel in the heart of Zell’s Old Town is located directly on the Moselle Promenade. It features a riverside terrace, free on-site parking and breakfast room with panoramic countryside views. I am giving this hotel 10 because of the room, view, location and staff. We had a suite (Die schwartze Katze) that looked newly refurbished and had everything you could want. The view from the balcony was outstanding. Everything was within walking distance and the hotel had a garage for our bicycles that was always accessible without having to ask staff. Breakfast was great and the staff friendly.

The staff was most helpful and very nice. The hotel is in the perfect location for exploring Zell and the Moselle region. VERY quiet, VERY clean and the views are stunning! The breakfast is delicious and lacked nothing. We found our go-to spot on the Moselle.

MaximilianHaus is situated in the wine town of Zell an der Mosel. It is situated in a quiet side street in the picturesque district of Kaimt, just 100 metres from the River Moselle. New freshly repaired and decorated guesthouse, very clean, with nice and helpful hosts ready to address any concern. Excellent value for money! Our room was spacious with a comfy bed, and a separate kitchen equipped with an induction cooktop, which boils water within seconds and a microwave, there were also salt pepper, sugar and some other stuff, so we were able to cook home meals. The wi-fi was efficient enough for video-calls though we stayed on the highest floor. The code doors are also very convenient to check in and check out. We had a parking space in front of the guesthouse, there is also a bicycle rack. The location is very good and practical, just in the middle of the area with the most beautiful places of the Mosel valley! Convenient to see charming but noisy and overcrowded Cohem, close enough to Traben-Trarbach and Bernkastel-kues and even within a reasonable distance from Trier and Luxembourg. Zell itself is a beautiful town with a huge commercial area uphill, several minutes away from the guesthouse, with supermarkets, drugstores, a hospital etc. The town center is 10 minutes away across the river, but it’s much more convenient to live on this side of the river, where the Maximilian house is situated, because the town center is really noisy at weekends with loud music till late at night and the views are much better. Besides there is a rather long and quiet public walk with benches.

Quietly located in Zell’s pretty Old Town, this family-run guest house is just 50 metres from the Moselle River. It features a bright breakfast room and a terrace overlooking the vineyards. The room was decorated freshly and beautifully. Friendly staff. Perfect location.

These family-run apartments are quietly located in the district of Zell-Merl, just a 2-minute walk from the Moselle River and 2 km from Zell's centre. Very spacious apartment, friendly host, comfortable beds. Having your own small kitchen is wonderful. Great value for money. I can definitely recommend staying here! :)
