It was easy to walk to all the sites and there was a lot that interested us. We visited for two days in mid-December. If we were there longer in warmer weather, we would explore more nearby places. This would be easy because of the train and ferry in town. We enjoyed the shops and restaurants. On another visit, we would go to the castle earlier in the day. There were things we weren’t able to do because our tour was too close to closing time. Helsingor is a ninety minute train ride from Copenhagen. You can get off the train north of Copenhagen and take the metro directly to the airport.

I am from Brazil and I would like to move straight there. I love the Viking vibe, the city is extremely clean, the city is beautiful, the churches and castles are wonderful, the food is extremely delicious despite being simple, everywhere I went I can say that I had the best dish I've ever eaten, chocolate Hot, the tastiest I've ever had and even a simple burger at a restaurant called BBQ was the best I've ever had … and even being lucky enough to see snow for the first time, it was magical

Helsingør is a nice old city with several historical and cultural objects of interest in it and around as Kronborg slott in Helsingør, Frederiksborgs slott with historical museum of Danmark in Hillerød, and Luisiana museum of modern art in Humlebæk. Luisiana museum has an outstanding collection of sculptures by the famous artist Giacometti.

A relaxing stay by the sea side with fresh air and an excellent alternative to Kobenhavn city which is a short (45 minute) frequent (every 20 minutes) train ride away and included (free) in the Copenhagen card.
Kronberg Slot and Maritime Museum well worth a visit (both included in the Copenhaven card) or for for a roundtrip across the sound to Helsingborg.
A good walking tour around the town - map/guide available at tourist offices.
Louisiana Art is nearby.

A pleasant town with some interesting places to visit,...
A pleasant town with some interesting places to visit, notably Kronborg Castle, made famous by Shakespeare's Hamlet. The pedestrianised own centre has a range of shops, restaurants, etc, and there are good transport links with the surrounding area, as well as a regular fast rail service from the capital and direct from Copenhagen Airport.
Rosenlund B&B is a very nice place to stay in the vicinity of Helsingor. You are not in the city center and a car or a mean of transportation is necessary as you are amid fields. Everything is at disposal, furnished kitchen, even individual BBQ, compact room like a studio with bath room attached, clean and well kept. Many foreign chanels and Netflix on the TV. We had the visit of the owner to check if we were arrived safely, that was a nice attention. Quiet surroundings and pleasant stay.
The apartment is literally a couple of minutes walk from Helsingor Station and right in the heart of the town, minutes from shops, restaurants and a little over 5 minutes walk from the wonderful castle and Maritime Museum. It is spacious, spotlessly clean and very comfortable, especially the beds and bedding. Everything in the kitchen and bathroom worked well and the views from the windows - roofscape and streetscapes - were very pleasant.
the coffee machine was a lovely bonus.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The room was a good size for the 2 nights. There were chairs to sit on besides the bed so that's always a plus. The breakfast had enough choices and some things changed every day. We had a car so the distance into town wasn't an issue. We always found parking in town. There is parking at the hotel in front of your room.
Hotel Hamlet is very conveniently located for public transportation as well as local shops and points of interest. The staff were professional and friendly. The room was small and cozy with an attached bathroom which was relatively modern for the age of the building. Helsingør is a charming town and recommended for a visit while in Denmark.
The Apartment was very clean, well appointed, and spacious. The large terrace has sunshine the entire day. Very modern and well equipped kitchen. The premises are located in a quiet residential area that is only a 20 min walk to the quaint city center. Within the picturesque City Center are many shops, restaurants and Museums.
The hotel is very close to the train station, and it's walking distance to Hamlet Castle and the Danish National Maritime Museum. The staff was also very helpful! You also get a coupon if you dine at the restaurant Den Glade Tallerken, which we very much enjoyed dinner there, next to the hotel.
Great kitchen with utensils and tea with kettle. Nice, clean, spacious bathroom and good size beds. Generally the place looks cared after, with quality materials and it appears fairly recent. We did not use the BBQ provided, bit it too appeared useable and welcoming.
Best Location, its just outside the station :)
Staff is very helpful and nice. For Elsinor its a good hotel as its right in the center of the old city. Best is to walk in the city however if you have copenhagen card you can access the DOT trams and buses.
Everything is fine, nice room, good bed, clean, floor heating in the bathroom, good shower, nice breakfast, friendly staff. We stayed here on the opening weekend in 2005 and it still is our preferred hotel on our journeys from and till Sweden.
The location of the hotel was perfect, very close by the castle. Beautiful view from the hotel window. Spacious single room. Lovely restaurant and breakfast. Friendly, accommodating staff!
The breakfast was superb and hearty! The room was very homey with kitchen and a nice outdoor area. Close to the ferry to Helsingborg and Kronborg Castle. Great place to stay!
Location amazing , breakfast ok , request for rooms together was met but one room clearly more spacious and comfortable with much bigger bed than the other one
good location on the beach, just north of the centre of Helsingør.perfect for travellers and tourists. Staff and reception extremly nice and helpful,,,,,,,
